District Overview
Kiewit’s Western Canada District is headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia. We primarily perform heavy civil projects specializing in earth moving, transportation, roadways, bridges, water resources, and underground utilities. We are looking for hard working individuals with a passion for construction who aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty! Our current opportunities are spread across the entire west coast of Canada.

This position will be based out of Burnaby, BC
Responsibilities
- Develop a vision and execute a strategic plan for the Western Canada District leading new project scopes
- Provide oversight and be accountable for Western Canada projects, both on the get work and build work side and ensure business needs are valid and correctly prioritized.
- Provide ‘championship' for infrastructure projects, selling and marketing the area throughout the organization
- Oversee the whole project management process from approving project deliverables to initiating project reviews and ensure risk are continuously assessed and mitigated
- Identify potential conflicts or issues and facilitate solutions (e.g. resource loading, priority clashes)
- Build strong relationship with other Operational Leaders of the Western Canada District and foster effective teamwork between leadership and staff
- Communicate effectively with all stakeholders including clients, vendors and subcontractors
- Act as a spokesperson for the organization in community and industry activities to enhance the Districts community profile
Qualifications
- At least 15+ years’ related experience building or estimating heavy civil construction and infrastructure projects
- Ideally have a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or similar
- Experience leading multi-million-dollar contracts, including ownership of operations, project administration, client relations and all other scopes relative to large construction projects
- Competent in the use of computer software applications used for project control and administration, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Outlook
- Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative
- Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time
