District Overview
Kiewit’s Northwest District is headquartered in Vancouver, Washington. We primarily perform heavy civil projects specializing in earth moving, transportation, roadways, water resources, and underground utilities. We are looking for hard working individuals with a passion for construction who aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty!

You will start on a project in Bremerton, WA; however, relocation following the completion of this project is required for this position.
Responsibilities
- Routinely inspecting the facilities, machinery, and safety equipment in order to identify and correct potential hazards, and to ensure safety regulation compliance.
- Routinely monitoring the workforce for unsafe behaviors and coach employees on the correct behaviors when observed.
- Coordinating and presenting safety training to support client requirements including new hire orientation, fall protection, confined space, lockout/tagout.
- Interfacing with Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA) (Provincial or federal) officials/inspectors in the event or a site visit.
- Conduct daily safety and health inspections and maintain a written log which includes area/operation inspected, date of inspection, identified hazards, recommended corrective actions, estimated and actual date of corrections. Attach safety inspection logs to the Contractors' daily production report.
- Conduct incident / near miss investigations and complete required accident reports. Report mishaps and near misses.
- Maintain applicable safety reference material on the site.
- Attend the pre-construction conference, pre-work meetings including preparatory meetings, and periodic in-progress meetings.
- Review the APP and AHAs for compliance with EM 385-1-1, and approve, sign, implement and enforce them.
- Ensure subcontractor compliance with safety and health requirements.
- Maintain a list of hazardous chemicals on site and their material Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
- Maintain a weekly list of high hazard activities involving energy, equipment, excavation, entry into confined space, and elevation, and be prepared to discuss details during QC Meetings.
- Provide and keep a record of site safety orientation and indoctrination for Contractor employees, subcontractor employees, and site visitors.
Qualifications
- Hold a valid:
- OSHA 30-hour OR Equivalent formal safety training covering OSHA 30-hour and EM 385-1-1 topics
- Must be a US Citizen (Required by site)
- 5 years of continuous safety experience in construction industry (supervising/managing safety programs, hazard analysis, control development).
- 4 years of experience if holding a nationally accredited safety certification (ANSI or NCCA). #LI-SM1

Base Compensation: $72,000/yr - $85,000/yr
(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
