Position Overview

We are seeking a Superintendent for our Precast Facility. This role involves overseeing the production and installation of precast concrete elements, ensuring projects are completed efficiently and to the highest standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in precast concrete techniques and facility operations, along with strong leadership and problem-solving skills.

Location

This position will be based onsite at our facility in Wasco, CA. 

Responsibilities

  • Mentor and help to grow fellow Kiewit staff
  • Review and approve the balance of Foremen, journeymen, and laborer’s composite labor rates
  • Manage contract administration (subcontractor/field management meeting for communication)
  • Develop a program to maintain good client relations involving staff on-site
  • Initiate and attend supplementary and regular meetings with clients for problem resolution and planning
  • Oversee and approve the monthly job cost updates and quarterly cash flow projections
  • Review, approve, and negotiate change orders
  • Develop and implement a plan for project completion and turnover
  • Maintain daily diary for record-keeping purposes
  • Ensure that all performance evaluations are completed in a timely fashion for direct reports
  • Recommend, where appropriate, organizational, policy, and procedural or staff changes
  • Review and approve or reject promotions up to General Foremen

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of construction experience with 5+ years in a Superintendent/Leadership capacity (preferably working on infrastructure projects such as bridges, dams, water/wastewater treatment plants, etc.)
  • Must be a self-starter, highly motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to quickly learn and understand various processes regarding Kiewit’s policies, procedures, and software programs
  • Ability to identify and resolve any problems that may arise
  • Having a valid TWIC Card is preferred
  • Excellent organizational, administrative, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong experience in leadership, safety, negotiations, planning, and contract administration
  • Ability to access all areas on a construction project site
  • Experience in precast concrete techniques and facility operations; strong background in earthwork and piping is required
  • Working knowledge of various hammer types (diesel impact, hydraulic impact, and vibratory)
  • Knowledge of cranes, construction rigging, and use of slings, cable chokers, spreader bars, and multi-part load blocks to complete crane hoisting tasks
  • Experience with precast concrete construction, forming systems, rebar installation, dewatering, and concrete placement methods
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents and assist in planning work schedule

Base Compensation: $130,000/yr - $150,000/yr

(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
