Position Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a Tooling/Yard Manager to join our team in Aurora, Colorado at our brand new state of the art shop and yard facility. As a Tooling/Yard Manager you will be in charge of managing Kiewit Foundations fleet of tooling used in the specialty foundations business.  Tooling consists of typical foundation drilling attachments, Conex boxes, material handling racks, survey and testing equipment.  You will be required to have a good understanding of foundations equipment tooling and applications they are used in. Responsible for organization and upkeep of the storage yard in Aurora, CO.  and determining what repairs can be done in house at the facility, and what must be sent out to be repaired by an outside vendor.  You will also be responsible for running the business associated with the tooling yard, projecting yearly revenue and expenditures, and will work hand in hand with the Operations Manager as well as the equipment department. Eventually, you will lead a brand new centralized tooling yard that will open in Fort Worth, TX.

Location

This position is initially located in Aurora, CO and will require relocation to Fort Worth, TX once the new tooling yard opens. 

Responsibilities

•    Accountable for all Kiewit Foundations Yard personnel
•    Manage the shipping/receiving of tooling in multiple yard locations
•    Provide direction/instruction on how to properly repair/maintain tooling as it comes into the facility
•    Maintain a 3 week look ahead schedule of tooling coming into the yard and leaving the yard based on coordination with active jobs
•    Coordinate shipping and receiving trucking for tooling
•    Build/maintain professional relationships with all vendors
•    Cost reporting on a weekly and monthly basis
•    Manage all yard processes, this includes minor fabrication, repairs, small equipment rebuilds
•    Soliciting quotes, comparing and selecting the best tooling when new purchases are needed
•    Integrate technology and productivity savings into operations
 

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree preferred with 8 years of related experience
  • Experience in foundations industry, preferred 3-5 yrs. in similar construction position
  • Willing to move and be based out of Aurora, CO eventually, relocating to Fort Worth, TX  
  • Must be willing to travel roughly one week a month
  • Ability to coach/mentor in welding and burning processes
  • Vision to see creative & cost-effective solutions to both tooling requirements and repairs of tools
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects needs as well and directing shop activities
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite: (word, excel, power point, outlook)
  • Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative
  • Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time
