CAD Engineer - Northern California District

Position Overview

As a CAD Engineer, you will work closely with Project Managers, Project Engineers and various departments within out Precast facility reviewing and modifying drawings. You will be responsible for preparing drawings using designated software, including AutoCAD. 

District Overview

Kiewit’s Northern California District is one of Kiewit’s leading infrastructure districts specializing in various types of work in the heavy civil, power, transportation, and water resource markets. Although most of our work is regionally based in Northern California, we also pursue various projects across the west coast. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about infrastructure and committed to the construction industry rather than design. 

Location

This position is based out of our Antioch, CA location. 

Responsibilities

•   Prepare means and methods drawings per standards and guides using designated software, including AutoCAD 
•   Continuously review and modify submitted drawings 
•   Review drawings and assert changes based on field input from Project Managers and Project Engineers 
•   Work closely with various department managers and engineers

Qualifications

•   2-5 years minimum precast drafting experience 
•   Associate’s degree in drafting technology strongly preferred

•   AutoCAD experience required

•   3D Modeling is a plus 
•   Basic knowledge of the latest computer operating systems, spreadsheets, and databases

•   Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry

•   Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
•   Ability to solve problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations

•   Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative

•   Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time

•   Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity

•   Passion for safety, with the ability to help us ensure that nobody gets hurt

•   Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills 

•   Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals and objectives
