POSITION OVERVIEW
We are an innovative team of engineers and designers that support a diverse set of projects in the power market. We are expanding our Mechanical Design team to support our growing number of Power generation projects across the US and have a strong backlog of work for the next 10 years. In this role you could be involved with power projects in any of the following areas: Large scale Electric Utility projects, Gas generation, Coal, Fossil Fuel (simple and combined cycle plants), Carbon plants and carbon capture facilities. As a Sr. Mechanical Engineeer, you will develop mechanical equipment/systems and piping design, and check design deliverables, as well as develop procurement packages for equipment, vendor selection process, development of design schedules, work assignments, budgets, and mentor more junior engineers.

LOCATION
We have opportunities for candidates to be located in our offices in the Houston, TX, Lenexa KS, Charlotte NC, Raleigh NC, and our Atlanta GA offices.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Evaluate, select, and apply engineering techniques, procedures, industry codes and standards to projects
Perform high complexity engineering designs including analysis, calculations, research, and equipment selection
Develop mechanical piping and instrument diagrams (P&IDs) for power plant systems including steam cycles, boiler feed, condensate, water treatment, flue gas, hydrogen, fuel handling, heat transfer systems, and utility systems
Prepare sizing calculations and specifications for major equipment including, but not limited to, boilers, condensers, cooling towers, tanks, blowers and pumps
Prepare mechanical engineering designs, equipment lists, general arrangements, aux power demands, and process flow diagrams (PFDs) and procurement packages for equipment/components
Check design deliverables in accordance with industry codes and standards, contract requirements and company standards
Prepare requisite mechanical documentation for construction
Assist in the development of schedules, work assignments, and staffing requirements to ensure successful project completion
Coordinate with other drafters, designers, and engineers and review work progress and results
Provide technical mentoring and/or oversight
Balance multiple engineering tasks concurrently
QUALIFICATIONS
At least 8 years’ experience in mechanical engineering and design performing functions as outlined above is required, preferablly in the power industry, electrical utilities, chemical or gas industrial markets.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar degree program) from an ABET accredited four-year college or university program is required.
Has current PE license or in process of completing PE licensing process.

WORKING CONDITIONS
• Fast-paced office environment; must be able to interact professionally with all levels of management while simultaneously managing a diversified workload and challenging situations efficiently and effectively; regularly sit, stand, walk and talk and listen; occasionally lift and move up objects up to 30 pounds.
• Travel in the U.S. and internationally (5-15%).
