This position is based out of Albany, NY.


•    Oversee and ensure the safety of employees, subcontractors, and the general public.
•    Create a strong, organized safety culture in the organization. 
•    Implement and oversee the Project Safety Program including the development of site safety policies and procedures.  
•    Monitor all heavy industrial construction work for compliance with safety requirements. 
•    Enforce corporate and project-specific safety and health programs as well as federal, state, and local safety standards.
•    Assist Area Safety Manager by developing programs that engage employees in safety awareness and recognize positive behaviors.
•    Lead office and project safety committee to raise safety awareness, and communicate. best practices and lessons learned and generate involvement throughout all departments.
•    Report project-specific safety performance and future plans.
•    Lead accident, incident, and near miss investigations; develop and implement corrective actions and be able to effectively communicate findings to the management team.
•    Work closely with field supervision to plan more complex safety aspects of the project construction including critical lifts, hazardous material handling, etc.
•    Develop project-specific safety training for jobsite personnel including subcontractors.
•    Guide project team through various safety-training programs, worker orientations, Plan of the Day meetings, toolbox talks, and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) plans.
•    Conduct training, including new hire orientation and safety meetings.  
•    Train project management and supervision on internal policies, safety manuals, and high-risk job-specific tasks. 


•    Preferred Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety and Health related field; and 5+ years’ job experience in the construction industry. Applicants may apply with 5-7 years of equivalent job experience in the construction industry with a collateral role in safety.
•    OSHA Construction 30-Hour Training
•    Preferred OSHA 500/510 trainer certification
•    Knowledge of construction safety, and current Federal and OSHA requirements.
•    Certification as a Safety Professional or Emergency Medical Technician is also desired.  
•    Strong work ethic; good interpersonal and organizational skills.
•    An ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization
•    Must be able to act independently with little or no supervision and work collaboratively in a team environment  
•    Ability to operate a standard personal computer as well as knowledge of and experience with standard office computer software.  
•    Ability to carry out duties in varying work environments including wide-ranging weather conditions and terrain.

• Must be able to interact professionally with all levels of management while simultaneously manage a diversified workload and challenging situations efficiently and effectively.
• Regularly sit, stand, walk and talk and listen
• Occasionally lift and move objects up to 30 pounds.
