Position Overview

The Document Control Specialist is responsible for capturing and distributing all pertinent project documentation and ensures the project team has access to the latest revisions in a timely manner. The Document Control Specialist must ensure all project documentation is controlled and adheres to all internal Kiewit requirements as well as project specific requirements and procedures.

District Overview

Kiewit’s Southern California District is one of Kiewit’s leading infrastructure districts specializing in heavy civil projects that include earth moving, water/wastewater, transportation, roadways, and power projects. Most of our work is concentrated in the Southern California region

Location

This position will be based on our Data Center project in Abilene, TX. Candidates who are only looking for remote work, or unwilling to travel will not be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Process project deliverables by formally issuing documents via the project electronic document management system within 24 hours of receipt 
  • Perform quality check for all deliverables to ensure adherence with internal and contract requirements and clearly communicate all required deliverable corrections with Responsible Engineer when quality check requirements have not been met
  • Maintain project specific logs and reports
  • Develop, define, and analyze solutions to documentation requirements
  • Plan, control, and direct the activities of assigned Document Coordinators   
  • Facilitate project deliverables, documents for operation and final project turnover acceptance
  • Work with the suppliers and Responsible Engineers to understand deliverables coming/past due
  • Train and supervise the work of less experienced Specialists and/or Coordinators 

Qualifications

  • At least 3+ years of experience in document control in the Construction, Design Build, or EPC industry sector.
  • Must possess an aptitude to lead and manage people.
  • Familiarity with document control tools and software.
  • Ability to use appropriate tools and methods to collect and analyze data to identify and resolve business and/or technical problems.
  • Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written.
  • Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative.
  • Demonstrated commitment to business ethics and integrity.
  • Team player with the ability to lead others or work independently, as required, to meet deadlines, goals, and objectives.
  • Strong organizational skills, time management, and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable with fast-moving work environment, pressure, change, and ambiguity.

Base Compensation: $70,000/yr - $73,000/yr 
(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
