Position Overview

Kiewit is looking for a Quality Assurance Manager – Rail Systems. The role will act as the Independent Quality Assurance Oversight on rail projects across the United States.

District Overview

Kiewit Infrastructure Engineering's Design-Build team is driving clients to turn to Kiewit during all stages of design-build projects. Location

Position is located out of our Lone Tree, CO, West Lake, TX, Woodcliff Lake, NJ or New York City office. Position maybe eligible for remote opportunity based on individual’s years of experience and background and ability to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a comprehensive working knowledge and understanding of the project Systems Engineering, Systems Integration & Testing and Commissioning contract requirements including specifications, systems packages, and applicable code(s).
  • Review and provide feedback on project-specific Systems Design & Testing and Commissioning plans with Signals, Communications, Traction Power, etc. scopes of work and work procedures.
  • Review the implementation of the Testing and Commissioning Plans and project procedures and validate performance of subcontractors performing T&C functions.
  • Participate in performance and provide review and performance details of System testing including PICOs, FATs, SATs, and SITs for multiple subcontractors performing testing on the following scopes - Signals, Communications, Traction Power, etc.
  • Review and provide feedback on Care and Preservation and Operations and Maintenance plans, project requirements, and supplier documentation.  Review implementation of Care and Preservation and Operations and Maintenance plans and identify areas that are lacking in the implementation.
  • Review and document implementation of project engineering procedures, including testing and commissioning, document control, submissions management, tracking of design changes, material approval, testing schedules, and closure of punch list / deficiency items.
  • Implement project-specific QA/QC Plan in coordination with project safety plan.
  • Always ensure strict adherence to ethics and compliance requirements.
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with T&C team, Site subcontractors, Safety, Operations, architects, consultants, and vendors to ensure that adherence to the project-specific systems QA/QC Plans deliver a fully compliant project.
  • Understand project execution plans and coordinate Quality Control procedures at appropriate stages of the work and in line with the project schedule.
  • Provide oversight of project close-out and quality reports.
  • Review and accept project turnover packages.
     

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in construction management/engineering preferred. Industry related experience maybe substituted
  • Minimum of 5 years of quality assurance and quality management experience with rail systems engineering experience required
  • Rail Systems engineering, Systems Integration / Testing and Commissioning design experience and background required 
  • Rail//Transit construction or D/B project exp is a plus
  • Must have working knowledge of construction industry codes as applicable (ACI, AWS, ASME, NEC, etc.) as well as applicable certifications. 
  • ISO certifications required or ability to obtain within a year of employment
  • Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time.

  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environment.
  • Ability to travel as business requires.

Base Compensation: $95,804 - $150,000 
(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
