Position Overview

As a Senior Accountant in the Project and Financial Accounting group, you will have the opportunity to take on key project accounting and financial reporting related roles within the corporate accounting department. You will be a key member in an evolving accounting department function focused on supporting operational and financial decision-makers.

This position is based out of Kiewit Plaza at 3555 Farnam Street in Omaha, NE.  This is a shared service environment in a professional office setting.

  • Assist in the preparation and review of monthly joint venture financial statements
  • Performs monthly and quarterly reconciliations as part of the close process 
  • Assists in the preparation, review and analysis of quarterly and year-end financial work papers and consolidations 
  • Prepares related footnotes for parent and subsidiary financial statements 
  • Perform monthly and quarterly analytics to evaluate financial statements  
  • Assists project and financial accounting managers with other accounting-related matters, ad hoc requests, and special projects 
  • Collaborate with various home office and field departments, including treasury, tax, and operational accounting groups
  • Support internal and external auditors with the annual audit 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • 2-4 years of experience in public or corporate accounting
  • Strong analytical skills. Ability to analyze underlying principles, reasons or facts surrounding financial reports
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills 
  • Ability to collaborate with various home office and field operational departments  
  • Ability to quickly adapt to field-based operational practices 
  • Willingness to assume a variety of accounting-related tasks within the group 
  • Excellent organizational skills, including ability to plan and prioritize work, and handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Understanding of U.S. GAAP
  • Certified Public Accountant preferred
