Position Overview
Kiewit Infrastructure Engineering (KIE) has an immediate opening for a dynamic Construction Engineering Design Engineering Manager in our growing Construction Engineering Group. You will be part of our rapidly growing Infrastructure Design Department, which includes construction engineering, structural, geotechnical, civil, drainage, roadway, rail, and materials disciplines, is a multi-faceted and leading-edge division of Kiewit with best-in-class technical expertise focused on the design-build delivery of infrastructure projects.
District Overview
Kiewit Infrastructure Engineering's Design Build Management team are driving clients to turn to Kiewit during all stages of design-build projects to manage their multi-disciplined design teams to improve schedule, control costs and minimize risk. Our construction-driven engineers analyze root causes and resolve design issues before they impact schedule and budget. Particularly on large design-build projects, clients benefit from the proven processes and tools used by Kiewit to minimize project risk. We are an in-house resource that supports projects throughout the company. Our staff shares experiences gained, innovative concepts, and design best practices for all projects that we support.

Location
This position is based out of our Lone Tree, CO Offices, and will require some travel to projects.
Responsibilities
- • Leads and manages technical teams for assigned Construction Engineering Discipline (Temporary Works) during a pursuit or final design project.
• Works with CES discipline management and operations project teams to determine tasks sent outside of the organization for engineering.
• Responsible for completion of project design tasks within Construction Engineering Discipline (Temporary Works), in accordance with project design criteria and project management plans.
• Builds and maintains relationships with qualified subconsultants.
• Develops project budgets, schedules and staffing plans for KIE final design projects.
• Controls and tracks cost of the design and all engineering services (all projects, not just external support).
• Works with projects to identify and plan temporary works on the temporary works Matrix (Temporary work Reg.).
• Mentors junior staff with technical and professional development.
• Manages quantities and constructability throughout the design process for assigned design discipline.
• Reviews and administers design engineering contracts.
• Monitors and reports progress against design schedule on a weekly basis.
• Partners with design discipline lead and construction estimator/superintendent to meet project objectives.
Qualifications

Skills & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree or greater in Civil Engineering.
• 8 to 10+ years of directly related experience in design and management of temporary works projects in both the pre- and post-award phases. At least two of these years as a temporary works coordinator.
• Experience in developing, maintaining, and updating temporary works Matrices (Temporary work Reg.).
• Management roles, contributing to the management of large complex temporary works. Prior work experience on projects valued at $50M+.
• Proven experience in highway and bridge project delivery is required; and experience in delivery of projects in other transportation service sectors (rail & transit, aviation and ports) is desired.
• Strong technical background as a design engineer for temporary work projects.
• Experience administering engineering contracts for design-build projects.
• Three or more years of managing an engineering and design team of five or more.Required Characteristics:

Base Compensation: $90,564 - $130,337
(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
