Position Overview

As a Senior Finance Analyst for Kiewit, you will grow financial performance through analysis of financial results, forecasts, variances, and trends. This person will support an area of the business (heavy civil infrastructure projects) in both the day-to-day oversight and forecasting & risk identification. This person will play a key role in the overall business unit and collaborate with various project and management teams.

District Overview

Kiewit’s Eastern District specializes in challenging heavy civil construction projects throughout the Northeast, including the metropolitan areas of New York, Chicago, Boston, and Washington DC.  We are leaders in bridge, transit, foundation, tunnel, and water/wastewater construction while specializing in cast-in-place concrete, structural steel erection, earthwork, pile driving, and caissons. Kiewit’s Eastern District also has a large amount of work in the energy/power sector in various northeast locations. With our experienced and dedicated employees, extensive resources and in-depth market knowledge, the Eastern District can handle projects of any size.

Location

This person will be based out of our headquarters office in Woodcliff Lake, NJ.

Responsibilities

  • Creates, reviews, and updates various project reports and makes appropriate corrections to ensure accurate reporting for management.
  • Manages a small to mid-sized team as the business requires, providing guidance and feedback as needed. 
  • Coordinate with project teams to assess reporting and identify risks to create accurate forecasts.
  • Determines cost of operations by establishing standard costs, collecting operational data.
  • Guides cost analysis process by establishing and enforcing policies and procedures, providing trends and forecasts, explaining processes/techniques, and recommending actions.
  • Improves financial status by analyzing results, monitoring variances, identifying trends, and recommending actions to management.
  • Reconciles transactions by comparing and correcting data.
  • Recommends actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses, studying proposed changes in methods and materials.
  • Protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field.
  • 3 years of experience supporting operational finance and / or accounting functions. 
  • Experience supporting construction industry, heavy civil infrastructure type projects, and/or working with private clients and government contracts preferred.
  • Knowledge of complex ERP systems (SAP, etc.) to prepare financial reports and forecasts.
  • Knowledge utilizing data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.) to present complex financial analyses.
  • Knowledge utilizing the Microsoft Office 365 software suite to prepare and/or supplement financial reporting, forecasts, and analyses.
  • The ability to collaborate with various different business, operations, and construction project teams and personnel to gather data and create reports.
  • The ability to work successfully both independently and on a team to complete tasks and meet deadlines.

Base Compensation: $90,000/yr - $120,000/yr

(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
