Position Overview

The District Training Coordinator supports the coordination and administration of district training programs and onboarding activities. This role focuses on training logistics, tracking, documentation, and follow-up while working closely with District Training Manager and HR to ensure a smooth and consistent learner experience across the district.

This position is well suited for an early-career HR professional looking to build experience in training operations, onboarding, and HR systems.

District Overview

Kiewit’s Eastern District specializes in challenging heavy civil construction projects throughout the Northeast, including the metropolitan areas of New York, Chicago, Boston, and Washington DC.  We are leaders in bridge, transit, foundation, tunnel, and water/wastewater construction while specializing in cast-in-place concrete, structural steel erection, earthwork, pile driving, and caissons. Kiewit’s Eastern District also has a large amount of work in the energy/power sector in various northeast locations. With our experienced and dedicated employees, extensive resources and in-depth market knowledge, the Eastern District can handle projects of any size.

Location

This position is based out of our Woodcliff Lake, NJ office. 

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate logistics for district training programs and workshops, including invitations, attendance tracking, pre-work distribution, and post-event follow-up.
  • Maintain training records, completion tracking, and routine status reports.
  • Support certification follow-ups and outstanding training completions.
  • Assist with onboarding activities, including new employee welcome meetings and follow-ups on required documentation.
  • Enter and maintain training data in HR and learning systems (e.g., Talent Navigator).
  • Support SharePoint training sites by posting and organizing training materials.
  • Assist with tracking training-related expenses and compiling cost summaries.
  • Provide administrative and coordination support to district HR and training leaders.
  • Support recurring training programs and district meetings as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Engineering, Construction or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 1–3 years of experience in HR, training coordination, or administrative support.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and SharePoint.
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-service mindset.
  • Experience support training programs or onboarding initiatives is a plus
  • Familiarity with learning management platforms is a plus 
  • Experience coordinating meetings or events

•    May work at various different locations and conditions may vary

Base Compensation: $50,000/yr - $75,000/yr

(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
