Position Overview
As a Senior Finance Analyst with Kiewit you will lead financial planning and analysis for large scale construction projects ranging from $1 million to $1 billion+. You will partner directly with project and district level management teams to deliver actionable insights that inform strategic decisions and drive financial success. This role is critical to ensuring robust financial management of our projects, including cost evaluation, budgeting, forecasting, contract compliance, and financial reporting. You will collaborate closely with operations teams, mentor junior analysts, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance financial performance and operational efficiency.

Location
Position is based out of Westlake, TX office. Candidate must be willing to travel and/or relocate as needed (up to 25%).
Responsibilities
- Lead financial planning & analysis for large scale construction projects, ensuring accuracy in forecasting, budgeting, and financial reporting
- Partners with project management and operations teams to drive financial performance by identifying, quantifying, and communicating financial risks and opportunities
- Oversees and evaluates all transactional processes for accuracy, efficiency, and compliance
- Prepares client invoicing, manages accounts receivable/revenue recognition, and reviews project cash flow projection on a monthly basis
- Reviews and understands prime contract and change orders, including insurance, taxes, payment terms, and labor laws
- Follows and implements internal controls, and supports internal and external audits ensuring adherence to GAAP, company policy, and contract accounting requirements
- Manage month-end close process and prepare comprehensive financial reporting packages for senior leadership.
- Drives continuous improvement throughout the organization and is a proponent for positive change
- Earns trust, credibility, and buy in of processes from operations team to create better cohesion and clear communication within the organization
- Able to build high functioning teams with a focus on employee development, results, and continuous improvement
Qualifications
- 4-8+ years of accounting and or financial/data analysis experience, preferably in the construction or construction related industry
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Management, and/or related field.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, financial controls, and project accounting
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel ; experience with ERP systems preferred
- Exceptional analytical, communication (both oral and written), and organizational skills
- Strong work ethic and eagerness to produce high quality results
- High level of professionalism and standards
- Must be able to freely access all parts of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environments
- Willingness to travel and/or relocate as needed (up to 25%)
- Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
Working Conditions
Position may be required for project relocation or Temporary Duty Assignment.
