Position Overview

As a  Safety Coordinator, you’ll be part of a team implementing and overseeing the Project Safety Program including the development of site safety policies and procedures.   You’ll assist in monitoring the activities of construction projects, insuring the facility's compliance with pertinent governmental regulations, company policies and procedures.  You’ll assist in determining the cause of unsafe conditions and injury claims through procedure, equipment, facilities inspection and worker observation. Providing corrective action recommendations and assisting in implementing metrics for tracking and reporting on performance issues will also fall within your responsibilities. Safety Supervisors will review project work plans for accuracy in conformance with the standards and assist in safety program audits, coaching, and training. You must have the ability to carry out duties in varying work environments including wide ranging weather conditions and terrain with the ability to travel and/or relocate as required for projects.

Location

We currently have work all across the country in large cities and small towns, so our people must be willing to go where the work is.  Job assignment location will be determined closer to your start date.  Must be able to travel and relocate as business requires. Some of our current projects locations include, Florida, Washington, Oregon, California, Texas, Hawaii and Alaska. 

Responsibilities

•    Assist in planning, organizing and implementing district Safety Management Programs at industrial construction projects.
•    Conduct safety training, job safety analysis, workplace audits and incident response as needed.
•    Embody the Kiewit approach to safety, being constantly aware of conditions and work practices, being empowered to stop all unsafe work when needed.

Qualifications

•    Ability to relocate to project sites across the United States and Canada for an extended period of time
•    Bachelors or Associates degree in construction-related field of engineering, Occupational Safety & Heath, Industrial Technology or related area 
•    Construction safety training (Certification preferred) plus two or more years’ construction safety experience related to piping, electrical and heavy industrial commissioning

•    Ability to work in outdoor work environment and around related equipment
