Position Overview
The Field Embedded Solutions Analyst is a forward-deployed member of the Union Station project team. This role works side by side with project management, field engineering, superintendents, project controls, and other project staff to identify execution friction, apply trusted data and AI capabilities, and deliver practical solutions that improve how the project plans, builds, and makes decisions. The analyst is dedicated to the project’s highest-value needs while maintaining a close working relationship with Kiewit Data Services to connect the site to enterprise tools, data products, standards, and expertise.
District Overview
Eastern Canada District's projects include highways, bridges, mass transit, mine site development & open pit operations, hydroelectric powerhouses, wind-power plants, dams & industrial. The serve the construction and mining industries and operates in Eastern Canada.

This position will be located at one of our project sites in Toronto
Responsibilities
- Partner with project leadership and frontline staff to identify high-value data, analytics, process, and AI opportunities that improve safety, schedule, cost, quality, productivity, risk visibility, and project controls.
- Work directly with project staff to understand how work is performed, where information is fragmented, and where manual processes or delayed insight create execution risk.
- Maintain a strong connection to Kiewit Data Services. Guide the project toward approved enterprise data sets, tools, and reusable capabilities; help the team avoid duplicate, unsupported, or ungoverned solutions.
- Translate project needs into practical analyses, dashboards, automations, and tools, starting with the smallest useful solution and engaging KDS, technology, and functional partners for deeper expertise or enterprise scale
- Assess whether an existing enterprise capability, market solution, or partner product can meet the project need before recommending custom development. Define and build custom solutions when no suitable option exists.
- Promote adoption by helping teams use AI and data in ways that are secure, grounded in trusted sources, appropriate to the decision, and subject to the right human review.
- Measure and communicate value workflow by workflow, including hours returned, cycle-time improvement, earlier exception visibility, avoided rework, decision quality, adoption, and other project-relevant outcomes.
- Train, coach, and support project personnel in the practical use of approved AI technologies, including role-based workflows, office hours, use-case discovery, and hands-on problem solving. Build lasting AI literacy and fluency rather than one-time tool awareness.
- Document repeatable patterns, lessons learned, and solution requirements that can inform governed reuse on future Kiewit projects without compromising the Union Station project’s delivery priorities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Engineering, Construction Management, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
- Three or more years of experience in data analytics, digital delivery, process improvement, software or workflow development, project controls, engineering, construction, or a related operational environment.
- Demonstrated ability to turn ambiguous business or field needs into practical, adopted solutions. Experience working directly with operations, project teams, or frontline users is strongly preferred.
- Experience with analytics and data tools such as SQL, Python, Power BI, Excel, or comparable platforms. Familiarity with AI-enabled productivity tools and responsible AI practices is preferred.
- Strong communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills. Ability to explain technical concepts clearly and coach both technical and non-technical project staff.
- Sound judgment with data, confidentiality, system access, and human review requirements. Able to distinguish an appropriate project prototype from a solution that requires enterprise product, architecture, security, or governance involvement.
- Curious, self-directed, and comfortable working in a fast-paced project environment with changing priorities. Willingness to spend time in field and project-office settings is required.

Base Compensation: $80,000/yr - $100,000/yr
