Position Overview
The Principal Engineer will provide technical leadership through development of tools and training, identifying and mitigating technical risk and resolving complex technical challenges. This role involves serving as a subject matter expert for interfaces with internal staff and management, clients and suppliers.

This position is located in The Woodlands, TX.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering teams.
- Develop guides, standards, specifications, checklists and procedures related to substation engineering.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to substations.
- Identify and mitigate risk associated with substation projects through Independent Design Reviews and Technical Risk Analysis.
- Perform QC and serve as engineer of record as needed.
- Engage with clients and vendors as Kiewit’s subject matter expert.
- Support investigation of quality issues and development of corrective actions.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in substation design and engineering.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, power distribution, and substation components.
- Proven experience in project execution and team leadership.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in engineering software and tools (e.g.,, ETAP, CDEGS).
