Position Overview

The Senior Project Information Management Program Manager provides senior leadership for Kiewit’s Industrial District Project Information Management (PIM) Program and Information Management/Document Control organization. This role is responsible for building and leading a high-performing information management function that supports project execution, strengthens governance, develops talent, and drives consistent information practices across the industrial market. 

 

This position partners with engineering and operations leadership, functional leaders, and project teams to standardize execution, improve processes, align systems and workflows, and ensure project information is controlled from startup through final turnover and closeout.

District Overview

Kiewit’s Industrial District delivers complex construction and engineering projects across North America, including advanced technology, power, industrial, and other large-scale markets. Our teams operate in fast-paced project environments that require disciplined execution, strong coordination, and reliable information management. This role is key to helping project teams establish the standards, systems, and controls needed to manage project information effectively throughout the full project lifecycle. 

Location

This position may be based in a district or area office, depending on business needs. Candidates must be willing to travel as required to support project assignments.

Responsibilities

District Leadership & Program Ownership
•    Serve as the district leader and primary champion for the Project Information Management Program.
•    Lead development, deployment, and continuous improvement of district PIM standards, procedures, playbooks, tools, and assurance processes.
•    Influence operations, functional leaders, and project teams to align information management requirements with project needs and delivery models.
•    Establish district-wide governance, metrics, reporting requirements, and assurance processes.
•    Drive consistency across engineering, procurement, construction, startup, commissioning, turnover, and final records management.
•    Lead staffing projections, recruiting support, resource planning, and project deployment strategy for Information Management/Document Control personnel.
•    Develop talent through onboarding, mentoring, career development, succession planning, and leadership coaching.
Project Startup, Implementation & Governance
•    Ensure projects implement and maintain project-specific PIM Plans.
•    Lead project startup and Information Readiness Reviews to confirm systems of record, workflows, responsibilities, reporting needs, contract requirements, and project-specific PIM expectations.
•    Review project implementation plans and provide recommendations for improvement.
•    Assist projects in developing information management strategies based on project size, complexity, client requirements, and delivery model.
•    Support implementation of Engineering Information Management, Trade Partner Information Management (TPIM), Vendor Data Management, and Turnover Information Management programs.
Information Lifecycle, Turnover & Closeout
•    Establish governance for engineering information, vendor data, trade partner information, submittals, RFIs, design changes, quality records, commissioning records, turnover packages, final records, and archives.
•    Strengthen information handoffs from Construction and Quality through completions, commissioning, turnover, client deliverables, and archive.
Trade Partner Information Management
•    Lead district deployment of Trade Partner Information Management (TPIM) standards and practices.
•    Establish governance for trade partner submittals, vendor data, design-assist deliverables, delegated design information, quality documentation, and turnover requirements.
•    Translate client and contract documentation requirements into RFQ, subcontract, vendor, quality, turnover, and final records expectations.
•    Support pre-award evaluation and onboarding of Trade Partners around systems, submittals, RFIs, quality documentation, delegated design, and turnover requirements.
Systems, Technology & Reporting
•    Partner with business technology, systems administrators, and project teams to establish systems-of-record and platform governance.
•    Drive standardization of metadata, numbering, workflows, templates, reporting, and dashboards.
•    Lead implementation, governance, and optimization of InEight, TeamBinder, SharePoint, Procore, CxAlloy, Power BI, and other approved information platforms.
•    Develop district metrics and executive dashboards for information readiness, compliance, submittal performance, vendor data, change management, turnover readiness, and final records completion.
Team Development, Assurance & Continuous Improvement
•    Build team capability through onboarding, training, mentoring, career development, and succession planning.
•    Evaluate emerging industry trends and delivery models and recommend improvements to district standards.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Controls, Information Management, Business, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience supporting large EPC, industrial, power, mining, data center, or advanced technology projects.
  • Experience in one or more of the following disciplines: 
  • Project Controls
  • Document Control
  • Information Management
  • Engineering Management
  • Construction Management
  • Quality Management
  • Turnover Management
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, influence senior stakeholders, and drive organizational change in complex project environments.
  • Experience with staffing strategy, recruiting support, team development, onboarding, training, mentoring, or succession planning.
  • Strong understanding of project delivery lifecycles and interface management.

 

Preferred
•    Experience developing standards, procedures, and governance frameworks.
•    Experience with InEight, TeamBinder, SharePoint, Procore, Power BI, completions/commissioning platforms such as CxAlloy, or similar information management systems.
•    Experience with Trade Partner Information Management, Vendor Data Management, Quality documentation, and Turnover programs.
•    Experience translating client, contract, vendor, quality, completions, commissioning, and turnover requirements into execution and Trade Partner requirements.
•    Experience supporting EPC, Design-Build, Advanced Technology, or complex mega-projects.
