Position Overview
This position will be responsible for the protection & control design and engineering of greenfield and brownfield substation projects ranging from 12kV to 500kV voltage levels. The successful candidate should be able to formulate one-line diagrams based on project scope, develop AC and DC schematic diagrams, design and check wiring and interconnection diagrams, and perform protection & control-relevant calculations. Familiarity with developing relay settings and RTU configuration is desired.

Location
The position is based out of Raleigh, NC.
Responsibilities
- Work with project team to create all design documents and drawings, including one and three-line diagrams, protection and control schematics, communications diagrams, and wiring/interconnectiondiagrams..
- Specification development for the procurement, installation and testing of substation equipment.
- Apply engineering application software to complete engineering tasks such as determining equipment ratings, sizing equipment per project requirements, CT burden calculations, AC station service load calculations, DC battery sizing calculations, and voltage drop calculation.
- Communicate and coordinate project activities with project lead, customer representatives, and other stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) in Electrical engineering from an ABET accredited university
- At least 3 years of experience performing substation protection & control design and engineering for high voltage substations
- Licensed Professional Engineer preferred, but not required
- Knowledge of engineering standards including NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE and ANSI
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; fluent in English language
