We are actively seeking a Construction/Craft Recruiter to support hiring needs across all market areas—including mining, transportation, oil/gas/chemical, power, industrial facilities, buildings, and water/wastewater—helping staff iconic projects throughout the U.S. and Canada.
Our recruitment team is fast‑paced, collaborative, and passionate about finding top craft talent. Recruiters partner closely with multiple business divisions, creatively source candidates, and drive the full hiring process from outreach to offer. This role will also play a key part in workforce development efforts, helping build long‑term pipelines of skilled craft professionals to support future project demands.

District Overview
HR Operations is an integral partner and service provider at Kiewit. In recent years, we have gone from decentralized HR groups to a unified, shared service team, with various HR Centers of Excellence. Our vision is to be a best-in-class international HR organization.
Location
This is a full time on-site role in Point Pleasant, WV. This role may require travel up to 50% of the time.
Responsibilities
- Build strong relationships with site contacts, candidates, and project teams to ensure a smooth hiring process.
- Recruit, screen, and interview candidates in a high‑volume environment, presenting top talent to Operations.
- Facilitate internal transfers and referrals for efficient movement of craft employees.
- Manage 30–50 active requisitions at a time across key craft roles (equipment operators, pipelayers, mechanics, carpenters, etc.).
- Use SuccessFactors ATS, social media, job boards, and other tools to source talent.
- Network and build pipelines for current and future needs through career fairs, conferences, and outreach activities.
- Strong understanding of union workforce and labor relations
- Support workforce development by building long‑term craft talent pipelines and engaging with external partners.
- Extend offers and guide candidates through onboarding.
- Stay current on recruiting trends and align sourcing strategies with business priorities.
- Partner with Operations leaders on workforce planning for upcoming projects.
- Create and close offers; understand union and non‑union craft practices.
- Maintain knowledge of employment laws to ensure compliance.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1+ years recruiting experience
- 3 years of professional work experience
- Experience supporting craft hiring across the U.S., in infrastructure construction preferred (electrical, equipment operators, carpenters, pipelayers, concrete finishers, welders, riggers, etc.).
- Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
- Agility and creativity in sourcing strategies, with ability to pivot quickly for new market areas.
- Build and maintain craft talent pipelines
- Support long‑term workforce planning
- Engage in outreach activities (career fairs, community events)
- Partner with Operations to forecast future labor needs and strengthen craft workforce readiness.
- Strong attention to detail across all systems to ensure accuracy.
- Preferred experience in oil & gas/petrochemical, industrial facilities, mining, infrastructure, transportation, power, water, and wastewater markets.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and high‑volume recruitment (20–30 hires per week).
- HR knowledge including EEOC, FLSA, diversity recruiting, and interview best practices.
- Knowledge of union and non‑union craft management practices, including experience working directly with union employees.
- ATS experience required (SuccessFactors preferred).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Proactive approach—regularly reaching out to construction teams and leaders to keep hiring moving.
- Proven success in sourcing, screening, interviewing, developing offers, and closing hires.
