Position Overview

We are currently looking for a Survey/CAD Technician to support our projects in our Southeast District. The Survey/CAD Tech is responsible for performing survey calculations, plotting detailed design drawings and sketches, reading plansheets, preparing quantities, checking design drawings and various other technical tasks.

Our operations include highways, airports, mass transit, tunnels, water and wastewater facilities, dams and infrastructure work

Location

This position will be located in the Peachtree City, GA office.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares survey calculations, 3D Modeling, drawings, and exhibits using Trimble Business Center—other software proficiency a plus, CIVIL3D, Microstation, Sketchup, etc.
  • Prepares estimate exhibits for bid reviews using Trimble Business Center, Agtek proficiency a plus. 
  • Responsible for communicating with project teams to continuously review and revise designs for use in the field based on submitted drawings  
  • Reviews drawings and makes changes based on field input from the project team
  • Works closely with various department managers and engineers 
  • Assists in maintaining quantity records for volumes as well as working with the various project teams maintaining red line and as-built drawings.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested 

 

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Trimble Business Center software experience is preferred 
  • A Survey/ Engineering background is preferred
  • Microstation and/or AutoCAD (Civil 3D) software experience is not required but is a plus
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence 
  • Ability to effectively communicate both written and oral 
  • Strong organizational skills 
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
