Locates/Utility Coordinator

Eastern Canada District's projects include highways, bridges, mass transit, mine site development & open pit operations, hydroelectric powerhouses, wind-power plants, dams & industrial. The serve the construction and mining industries and operates in Eastern Canada

Responsibilities

  • Review data regarding excavation locations and plans to determine actual lines of requested utilities
  • Conduct utility locates
  • Operate various devices (receiver wand/ transmitter) to assist in locating underground utilities including gas, telecommunication, hydro, sewer, and water
  • Mark utility lines using color appropriate paint
  • Help investigating on unknow cable or structure
  • Performed Ground Disturbance Permit
  • Update GIS system
  • Call and make Locate packages

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of relevant experience
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract
  • Able to work on a fast paste environment day and night and some week end
