Position Overview
As a financial analyst, you'll support various projects in accounting and finance-related functions. You'll serve as a trusted advisor to operations managers and executive leadership. This role requires strong analytical skills, a constant drive for continuous improvement, and well-developed technical and interpersonal skills.
District Overview
The projects in Eastern Canada include highways, bridges, public transit, mining site development and open-pit operations, hydroelectric plants, wind farms, dams, and industrial facilities. They support the construction and mining industries and operate in Eastern Canada.
Location
This role will be in Ottawa supporting the OLRT project
Responsibilities
• Analyze and effectively communicate project financial results to management.
• Build trust, credibility, and buy-in for the operations team's processes to create better cohesion and clear communication within the organization.
• Develop and maintain budget and cost reports as well as earned value analyses.
• Assist in tracking project change orders and developing projections.
• Support the project team in developing project procedures.
• Promote continuous improvement within the organization and be an advocate for positive change.
• Effectively use the right data, reports, and tools for risk analysis and benchmarking.
• Assist with client billing and revenue collection.
• Collaboration: Work with project teams and the finance team to ensure financial accuracy and project success.
Qualifications
• 5 years + of experience in financial/data analysis or public accounting.
• Experience in the construction industry preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or an equivalent qualification.
• Advanced skills in the Microsoft suite required.
• Experience with SAP and PowerBI preferred.
• Strong communication skills (both verbal and written), organization, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities.

Base Compensation: $85,000/yr - $105,000/yr
(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
