Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Technical Business Analyst (Sr. TBA) to support Kiewit’s Data Engineering team by leading the translation of complex business needs into requirements for scalable, data-driven solutions. This role operates at the intersection of data engineering, analytics, and business strategy, partnering with stakeholders across districts and corporate functions to enable high-quality, governed, and actionable data products.
As a senior member of the team, you will lead requirements strategy, drive solution alignment, and mentor junior analysts, while ensuring data solutions are designed with scalability, reliability, and business value in mind. You will play a critical role in advancing Kiewit’s enterprise data platform and analytics capabilities.
This role builds upon foundational responsibilities such as requirements gathering, technical troubleshooting, and stakeholder engagement outlined in earlier-level roles, while expanding into solution leadership, and cross-functional influence.

The Data Engineering team focuses on delivering enterprise-grade data platforms, services, and pipelines that enable analytics capabilities which provide real-time insights and drive smarter decision-making across the business.
Location
This is a full time in office role located on our LaVista, NE campus. We are not offering relocation assistance for this role.
Responsibilities
• Serve as a technical partner for enterprise AI platforms; define requirements, document workflows, and translate business problems into platform-ready solutions
• Configure, build, and iterate low-code solutions in approved platforms including flows,
connectors/integrations (where available), knowledge sources, and guardrails
• Support platform operations and governance activities: intake, requirements gathering, use case assessment, environment/access requests, and change management
• Develop enablement assets (how-to guides, templates, examples) and coach teams on best practices · Partner with stakeholders to pilot and scale solutions
• Coordinate with security, privacy, and legal partners to ensure solutions follow data-handling requirements and responsible AI guidelines
• Maintain platform documentation and a living catalog of solutions, FAQs, patterns, and reusable components to improve self-service and reduce support burden
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or related field. Equivalent professional experience will be considered
• 6–10+ years of experience as a Technical Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar role
• Proven experience working with data engineering teams, data platforms, or analytics solutions
• Experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across diverse teams and roles; able to translate SME needs into requirements and measurable outcomes
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a willingness to dive into complex and ambiguous challenges
• Process and solution-oriented thinker able to analyze business workflows, identify inefficiencies, and recommend the right technical solutions
• Strong proficiency in SQL and data analysis
• Understanding of data engineering concepts (ETL/ELT, data pipelines, data lakes/warehouses)
• Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks, Snowflake, etc.)
• Familiarity with Power BI or other BI/reporting tools
• Understanding of data modeling, governance, and data quality frameworks
