Position Overview

As the Senior LINUX Administrator, you will take on the responsibility of management, configuration, and troubleshooting of the Kiewit Enterprise LINUX infrastructure and environments. You will take lead in evaluating and providing recommendations for existing infrastructure, assist our SAP teams in configuration and management of SAP environments, and driving standards adoption and best practice for the benefit of our business partners. This role will also be responsible for developing and maintaining appropriate documentation for processes and procedures used to perform routine work while striving for continuous process improvement. You will work closely with various teams including Architecture, Security, and product teams to ensure seamless service and product delivery that drive business results. Successful candidates work well in a fast-paced collaborative environment and are considered a leader with advanced soft-skills in time management, leadership, and communication.  The ability to navigate and work within Microsoft Windows Server environments is a strong plus.

District Overview

Kiewit Technology Group’s (KTG) mission is to deliver project schedule and cost certainty by employing technology designed by and for the construction industry. Our team deploys apps to the field that increase profitability by maximizing the way we use our people and resources in daily operations. KTG uses the Kiewit Management System (KMS), which includes systems and tools that manage every part of Kiewit’s business and lifecycle of a project, to improve planning and day-to-day execution in the field by giving our people real-time data to make faster, smarter decisions. This position is based out of our Kiewit Business Center at 12720 I Street. This is a shared service center in a professional office setting. 


•    Ability to design, implement, and maintain Enterprise-level server RedHat systems. 
•    Ability to administer an enterprise level RedHat LINUX SAP environment. 
•    Working knowledge of network infrastructure in relationship to server infrastructure. 
•    Ability to identify capacity and performance needs for server infrastructure (compute, memory and disk). 
•    Advanced knowledge of LINUX operating systems.  Windows a plus. 
•    Knowledge of VMware platform and management tools. 
•    Skills in automation of workload and tasks for efficiency and process improvement
•    Ability to manage IT related initiatives including long-duration projects across multiple groups. 
•    Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects, including troubleshooting, operations, and maintenance of the enterprise in a team environment. 
•    Ability to provide customer-focused technical support to other teams within Information Management and our business partners as needed. 
•    Ability to maintain documentation for IT processes, procedures, trouble tickets, network configurations, hardware/software inventory, and audit requests. 
•    Create and maintain technical and procedural standards documentation. 
•    Follow formal change control process when necessary. 
•    Represent the Server team as a lead resource on corporate project teams and advisory boards.
•    Identify and act upon process improvement opportunities. 


•    3+ years of experience in an information technology role.
•    3+ years of experience working with RedHat LINUX.
•    Experience managing cloud technologies (IaC, IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
•    Experience in the VMware platform and management/automation tools.
•    Strong understanding of emerging technologies, standards and best practices.
•    Ability to multi-task, work independently and as a part of multiple teams.
•    Ability to manage a variety of technically challenging tasks effectively.
•    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to solve unique problems with creative solutions.
•    Must be able to develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize and accomplish work efficiently.
•    Strong verbal and written communication skills, with proven ability to present information both to technical and non-technical customers/stakeholders at the appropriate time, in appropriate media and form.
•    Highly motivated, self-starting and self-directed with high learning agility.
•    Ability to lift and carry heavy items weighing approximately 50 lbs.
•    Ability to work off-hours when required and be part of an on-call rotation.
•    GitHub account/portfolio a plus.
•    Experience with both Windows and LINUX operating systems a plus.
