Position Overview

As a Risk Analyst in the Risk Management & Insurance Department, you’ll apply approved risk management department and corporate policies and procedures as directed by Risk Management & Insurance leadership.  You’ll also provide insurance and risk management support to the various Kiewit operational Districts and projects.  You’ll typically have a wide-ranging division of responsibilities, which include supporting Kiewit District personnel, interactions with other Kiewit Home Office departments, and others in the profession including insurance brokers and insurers.

This position is based out of Kiewit's headquarters at 1550 Mike Fahey Street. Connected to Kiewit University, the new Kiewit Plaza provides a modern, state-of-the art venue in the emerging Builders’ District north of downtown Omaha.


  • Provide project insurance bid reviews, insurance and bond requirements, pricing and other information necessary to assist operational estimating pursuits
  • Assist with project contract review and negotiations as they relate to insurance and other risk management matters
  • Provide support by participating in selection of and negotiation with brokers and insurance carriers
  • Manage and assist projects with the investigation and settlement of builders’ risk, property and equipment claims
  • Gather underwriting information  and prepare specifications for insurance renewals
  • Obtain project specific insurance as required by contract, including builders’ risk, pollution liability and professional liability
  • Manage insurance policy extensions
  • Tracking project insurance program data
  • Reviewing and filing insurance policy changes
  • Special projects as assigned


  • BS / BA Undergraduate Degree
  • 5 years of multi-line property casualty experience (insurance brokerage, claims adjusting, underwriting, or risk management)
  • Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel
  • High level of motivation, willingness to learn – a go-getter willing to go the extra mile
  • Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals, and objectives
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of flexibility and adaptability to changing environments
  • Ability to travel throughout North America as needed for training, broker/carrier meetings, project sites, less than 20% of the time
