Position Overview
The Product Portfolio Manager leads a team of Product Owners and is accountable for the strategy, performance, and lifecycle management of a portfolio of technology products supporting Construction Equipment and Fleet Management business processes.
This role serves as the primary technology partner to business stakeholders within this domain, ensuring products are aligned to operational priorities and deliver measurable business value. The Product Portfolio Manager defines portfolio vision and roadmaps, prioritizes investments, and drives alignment across business and KTG teams to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions.
The ideal candidate brings strong product leadership capabilities, business acumen, and the ability to quickly develop domain understanding through close partnership with subject matter experts.

This is a full time in office role located on our LaVista, NE campus.
Responsibilities
Portfolio Strategy & Business Partnership
- Build strong, trusted relationships with business leadership and KTG product and service teams.
- Collaborate with Customer to understand operational priorities, challenges, and long-term objectives.
- Develop and maintain a clear portfolio vision and multi-year roadmap aligned to business goals.
- Review, prioritize, and plan roadmap features, upgrades, and tech debt
- Translate business needs into product strategies that balance value, cost, risk, and technical sustainability.
- Drive product quality and ensure documentation/training is provided to technical and business support groups prior to release
- Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies that may impact the portfolio.
- Manage financials to include estimating project costs and reporting them to the business
Value Management & Prioritization
- Lead prioritization of features, enhancements, upgrades, and technical debt initiatives.
- Ensure decisions are based on business value, desirable outcomes, and total cost of ownership.
- Partner with stakeholders to evaluate trade-offs and provide focus on valuable investments
- Establish and leverage portfolio metrics to measure product health, adoption, user satisfaction, and value realization.
- Manage third-party product relationships, including licensing considerations and vendor coordination.
- Understand user behavior and user satisfaction with the products in your portfolio and develop processes to allow for continuous improvement based on that information
Delivery & Lifecycle Oversight
- Provide portfolio-level leadership across the product lifecycle, from concept through retirement.
- Understand the total cost-of-ownership for your products.
- Ensure alignment between Product Owners, delivery teams, and business stakeholders.
- Set and manage expectations for deliverables, timelines, and outcomes.
- Drive continuous improvement through feedback loops, usage insights, and performance metrics.
- Practice sound technical practices, security standards, and technical debt management.
- Develop and execute decommissioning strategies for legacy or unsupported solutions.
People Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Product Owners.
- Provide clear direction, performance feedback, and growth opportunities.
- Foster accountability, collaboration, and a customer-focused mindset.
- Communicate effectively with senior leadership and cross-functional partners.
- Inject a sense of urgency into the team with focus on quality and timely delivery
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- 5+ years of experience in product management, portfolio management, or related leadership roles.
- 5+ years of experience directly or indirectly managing others.
- Experience partnering with senior leadership on strategic initiatives.
- Experience working within Agile software development environments.
- Strong business and financial acumen, including cost-benefit evaluation and investment prioritization.
- Experience with product or portfolio management tools.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to multiple audiences.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Experience in engineering, construction, fleet, or asset-intensive industries is preferred but not required.
- Willingness to travel up to 20% as needed.
