Position Overview
The Transformation Specialist is responsible for identifying, shaping, and advancing process improvement, AI, automation, and digital transformation opportunities across Home Office functions. This role partners closely with business stakeholders and IT teams to evaluate current processes, challenge existing ways of working, design future-state processes, and support solutions that improve efficiency, user experience, decision-making, and business outcomes.
This position plays a key role in connecting business needs, process redesign, technology enablement, experimentation, change adoption, and benefits realization to ensure transformation initiatives deliver measurable value and can scale effectively.

Location
This is a full time in office role located on our LaVista, NE or Lenexa, KS campus. This role requires full time, in office attendance.
Responsibilities
- Identify, assess, and shape process improvement, AI, automation, and transformation opportunities across Home Office functions.
- Lead structured discovery and design sessions to understand current-state processes, pain points, business needs, and opportunities to simplify or redesign work before applying technology.
- Document and analyze current- and future-state workflows, including process maps, user journeys, operational impacts, baseline performance, and opportunities for standardization or reuse.
- Partner with stakeholders to challenge existing processes and design scalable, efficient, user-centered future-state solutions.
- Translate business needs into actionable requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and implementation plans.
- Facilitate cross-functional alignment between business stakeholders, Product Owners, IT teams, and other partners involved in solution delivery.
- Assess and shape AI, automation, process improvement, and digital transformation opportunities by establishing current-state baselines, quantifying business value, evaluating feasibility and risk, defining success measures, and recommending opportunities for prioritization.
- Develop opportunity assessments and support business cases that quantify manual effort, labor and productivity impact, cycle-time improvement, user experience, cost, adoption, risk, and expected return on investment.
- Support development and maintenance of the transformation opportunity pipeline and roadmap by evaluating business value, feasibility, dependencies, risk, and speed to value.
- Evaluate AI, generative AI, intelligent automation, workflow automation, process mining, low-code capabilities, and other emerging technologies to determine where they can create practical business value.
- Consider data, architecture, cybersecurity, compliance, and responsible AI requirements during opportunity assessment and solution shaping.
- Support proofs of concept and pilots by defining hypotheses, success criteria, measurement approaches, stakeholder feedback, and recommendations for scaling, iteration, or discontinuation.
- Partner with business leaders, Product Owners, and IT teams to shape and deliver transformation initiatives.
- Support solution design and iterative delivery, including proofs of concept and pilots, by ensuring business goals, requirements, process impacts, hypotheses, and success criteria are clearly understood throughout the lifecycle.
- Coordinate and support validation activities, including pilot evaluation, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), test scenario development, stakeholder feedback, and recommendations for scaling or iteration.
- Lead or support change enablement activities, including stakeholder engagement, documentation, communications, training materials, and user support needed to drive adoption.
- Track and communicate initiative status, risks, dependencies, adoption progress, KPIs, and realized business outcomes.
- Establish baseline and post-implementation measures to validate adoption, benefits realization, and business outcomes; monitor implemented solutions to identify opportunities for continued optimization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Organizational Development, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in business analysis, process improvement, automation, digital transformation, or similar roles.
- Strong experience facilitating discovery sessions, gathering requirements, and translating business needs into actionable solutions.
- Proficiency in process mapping and analysis tools such as Visio, BPMN, or Lucidchart.
- Experience supporting process redesign, workflow improvement, or digital transformation initiatives.
- Ability to translate business objectives into user stories, functional requirements, and success measures.
- Familiarity with agile and waterfall methodologies and experience working with cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills with attention to detail.
- Experience using data to develop business cases, establish baselines and KPIs, prioritize opportunities, and measure adoption and realized outcomes.
- Strong communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills across business and technical audiences.
- Experience supporting testing, implementation, and change management activities.
- Working knowledge of AI, generative AI, intelligent automation, RPA, workflow, low-code/no-code, or process mining capabilities and their practical application to business processes.
- Experience with procurement, supply chain, source-to-pay, or related operational processes is preferred.
