Position Overview

The AR & Billings Supervisor leads a team within KBS Financial Services to deliver accurate, timely accounts receivable and billing support across the Kiewit organization. This role is responsible for team leadership, workload management, continuous improvement, and exceptional customer service while supporting business-critical financial operations. In addition to supporting operational finance teams, this role partners closely with Home Office Accounting, requiring the ability to understand and clearly articulate fundamental accounting concepts.

Kiewit Business Services (KBS) is a cross-functional shared service organization that provides the business units with customer-specific services focused on cost and business value.   Our services include non-core, yet essential, functions of our businesses including accounts payable, accounts receivable, change control, human capital management, payroll, project initiation, compliance and continuous improvement.

Location

This position is located on our LaVista, NE campus. This is a full time in office role. 

Responsibilities

 

  • Supervise, train, mentor, and develop a team of approximately 9–10 coordinators and analysts
  • Set clear priorities, performance expectations, and accountability standards to ensure accuracy, productivity, and service quality
  • Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and development opportunities; encourage learning and knowledge sharing
  • Monitor daily workloads and assist as backup when needed
  • Drive continuous process improvement initiatives, including leveraging AI and automation tools
  • Deliver excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders while supporting business-critical needs
  • Perform data analysis and reporting to support operational and management decisions
  • Collaborate across teams to promote process enhancements and best practices
  • Make timely, well-reasoned decisions while considering risk, alternatives, and long-term objectives
  • Maintain reliable and consistent attendance and perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of people leadership experience
  • 2+ years of professional work experience in accounting/billing/invoicing and the ability to articulate fundamental accounting concepts to various stakeholders
  • Strong people management skills, including coaching, delegation, and conflict resolution
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to build relationships across the organization
  • Proven ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain high quality standards in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Adaptable and open to change; able to respond effectively to shifting priorities and challenges
  • High level of initiative, professionalism, and customer service focus
