Position Overview

Kiewit is seeking a mid‑level Mechanical, Chemical, or Nuclear Engineer with strong process‑design experience to support engineering and execution activities across major industrial and energy projects. This role is ideal for an engineer who thrives in a multidisciplinary, construction‑driven environment and enjoys working at the intersection of design, execution, and project development.

You will contribute to front‑end engineering, process design, equipment sizing, and EPC project execution while collaborating closely with engineering, estimating, and construction teams.

Responsibilities

• Support process‑design engineering activities across industrial, energy, and EPC projects.
• Develop and review P&IDs, process flow diagrams, and related engineering deliverables.
• Perform equipment sizing calculations and support specification development.
• Contribute to Front‑End Engineering Design (FEED) and FEL planning efforts.
• Participate in EPC project execution, including coordination with estimating, procurement, and construction teams.
• Ensure engineering deliverables meet project requirements, quality standards, and constructability expectations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support integrated project delivery.
• Provide technical input during design reviews, risk assessments, and project planning sessions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Nuclear Engineering.
• 8–13 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Demonstrated process‑design engineering experience (required).

Experience with:

• P&ID development
• Equipment sizing calculations
• Front‑End Engineering Design (FEED / FEL)
• EPC project execution or estimating (preferred)
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
• Must be available to work on‑site in Oakville (remote work is not available for this role). #LI-IS1
