Position Overview

We are seeking experienced Planners to join our nuclear maintenance, installations, and operations team. The Planner is responsible for the coordination and development of all forced, planned, and refuel outage schedules, with a focus on activity, logic, and resource, and constraint input into planning tools. They will successfully develop and maintain accurate plans and schedules throughout development and execution, by working with peer Schedulers, Team Leaders, and Outage Specialists.

 

As a Planner, you will get the opportunity to work closely with operations staff and schedulers to ensure that project needs are accounted for, including requirements for engineering / design completion, operations planning and material logistics. You will be responsible to ensure that key various milestones and project deliverables represented realistically in the project schedule and plan. Provide updates to key project team members on the progress of project progression.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, designers, procurement staff, construction managers, sub-contractors to provide detailed planning from conceptual planning through construction completion.
  • Participate in all aspects of work control, coordination, and scheduling, including online, load reductions, forced outages and refuel outages, to ensure that maintenance work is properly assigned, planned and ready to work. Manage and monitor departmental resources and expenditures for all assigned work, including refuel outages, within the approved budget.
  • Effectively manage the development of efficient and complete work packages for all maintenance activities that require planning to execute on-line, forced outage, refuel outage and unplanned power reduction work. This includes administration and oversight of both internal and external planning personnel, including Maintenance contract personnel.
  • Apply vast knowledge of engineering, procurement, and construction terminology and concepts to develop and maintain critic path logic networks; accumulate and access historical data for use in maintaining realistic future planning and forecasting.
  • Assess the impact of design changes and schedule slippages and inform company management and clients.
  • Lead development of resource loaded schedules, including lists of activities, major milestones, critical approvals, long lead procurement items and other critical project deliverables to be scheduled and tracked for the projects.
  • Ability to visualize the project plan and represent it in using schedule logic and constraints, realistic activity durations and available manpower and resources.
  • May interface with clients, attend regular meetings and statistical reports.

Qualifications

  • Ability to travel and relocate as needed.
  • 3+ years’ nuclear outage, construction scheduling experience, including three years of proven leadership directing scheduling functions.
  • Advanced knowledge of construction engineering technology, codes and standards, and an in-depth understanding of the interdependence and relationship between other functional units.
  • Proficiency in various project controls software such as Excel, Primavera, and other company-specific software.
  • Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative.
  • Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity.
  • Passion for safety, with the ability to help us ensure that nobody gets hurt.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
