As a Technical Writer within our Engineering team, you will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between complex engineering concepts and clear, comprehensible documentation that empowers diverse audiences. Your expertise will be instrumental in supporting engineering, product development, and customer support teams through the creation of comprehensive and accessible technical materials. Responsibilities

Key responsibilities of this role include:
  • Crafting and continuously updating various forms of technical documentation such as user manuals, installation instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), engineering specifications, and system APIs.
  • Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including engineers, product managers, and subject matter experts to gather detailed information, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of content.
  • Translating highly technical and complex engineering details into clear, concise, and user-friendly language suited for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Designing and integrating detailed visual aids — including diagrams, schematics, and flowcharts — to enhance understanding and usability of documentation.
  • Ensuring all technical documents adhere to relevant industry standards, regulatory guidelines, and internal quality protocols.
  • Managing version control systems rigorously to maintain current and historical documentation throughout product and project lifecycles.
  • Conducting regular usability assessments and incorporating constructive feedback from engineering and customer support teams to improve documentation effectiveness.
  • Maintaining organized repositories of documentation materials and actively contributing to the development of documentation strategies, best practices, and process improvements.

Qualifications

Successful candidates will demonstrate:
  • Exceptional technical writing skills with a strong focus on clarity, grammatical accuracy, and audience engagement.
  • The capability to comprehend and convey engineering concepts spanning mechanical, electrical, software, and systems engineering disciplines.
  • Proficiency with modern documentation tools including Confluence, MadCap Flare, LaTeX, Markdown, and version control systems like Git.
  • Experience interpreting and incorporating CAD drawings, technical schematics, and engineering diagrams into documentation.
  • Excellent interpersonal and interviewing skills for effective information gathering from diverse technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects independently while collaborating effectively across teams.
  • An eye for detail and a steadfast commitment to accuracy, compliance, and quality assurance in documentation.
  • A proactive approach to staying current with evolving industry standards, technologies, and documentation methodologies.

Base Compensation: $65,000/yr - $95,000/yr
(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
