Position Overview

Lead drone flights for various applications, plan and execute aerial surveys, manage data acquisition, and ensure compliance with FAA regulations. Process and interpret LiDAR data, perform equipment maintenance, mentor junior pilots, and collaborate with project managers to achieve project goals.

Medford, OR with 90% travel throughout project 

Responsibilities

•    Lead drone flights for various applications such as asset inspections, environmental monitoring, and aerial surveys.
•    Plan and execute aerial surveys, including flight path planning and scheduling based on survey specifications.
•    Oversee advanced data acquisition, including pre-flight planning, risk assessments, and post-flight data quality checks.
•    Process and interpret LiDAR data using specialized software to generate accurate maps and models.
•    Ensure all operations comply with FAA regulations and company safety protocols.
•    Perform and oversee routine maintenance and troubleshooting of drone equipment and LiDAR sensors.
•    Lead and mentor junior pilots and team members, providing training and guidance.
•    Collaborate with project managers, GIS specialists, and other stakeholders to ensure project goals are met and deliverables are achieved.

Qualifications

•    5+ years of experience in drone operations, LiDAR data collection, and aerial surveying.
•    Bachelor's degree in Geography, Geomatics, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
•    FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate is required.
•    Advanced proficiency in LiDAR data processing software (e.g., TerraScan, Terramodeler, Global Mapper), strong analytical skills, and attention to detail.
•    Extensive experience with survey equipment and techniques, including GPS and total stations.
•    Ability to travel to various field locations and work in different environmental conditions.

•    Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and clients.
•    Ability to adapt to new technologies and methodologies in the rapidly evolving field of LiDAR and drone operations.
•    Strong leadership skills and experience in managing and mentoring teams.

Base Compensation: $98,000/yr - $103,000/yr

(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
