Position Overview

Kiewit Infrastructure Engineers (KIE) has an opening for a junior Train Control Engineer in our growing Rail Transit Systems Group. You will be part of our rapidly growing Infrastructure Design Department, which includes structural, geotechnical, civil, drainage, roadway, rail, and materials disciplines, is a multi-faceted and leading-edge division of Kiewit with best-in-class technical expertise focused on the design-build delivery of infrastructure projects.

Location

This position will be based in our Lone Tree, CO office.

Responsibilities

•    Work under the direction of an experienced Train Control Engineer to develop design plans and documentation to support project requirements.
•    Ability to develop detailed design specifications
•    Ability to design and develop documentation to support typical train control requirements related to: Electrical circuit diagrams, Code for programmable logic controllers, Physical arrangement plans, Creation of test plans and procedures.
•    Selection of products to apply within the specification requirements.
•    Conduct actual system level testing to ensure compliance to the customer requirements.
•    Develop and utilize Requirement Management Tools to assure adherence to customer requirements.
•    Develop and utilize Configuration Management Tools for the products and systems being deployed.
•    Become familiar with industry standards and guidelines such as AREMA, FTA, IEEE, etc.

Qualifications

•    Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar 
•    GPA above 3.0 preferred
•    Knowledge of control systems
•    Must have experience in report preparation, and the ability to solve complex problems and work with senior engineers and in teams of multidisciplinary engineers
•    Supports project teams and departments in a positive and productive manner. Works well with others to accomplish common goals and objectives 
•    Serves as support resource to engineers, designers and other departments

•    Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies.
•    Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required.
 

Base Compensation: $91,000/yr - $96,000/yr 
(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
