Position Overview
The Talent Acquisition Internship is focused on supporting projects in Human Resources & Recruiting.
District Overview
HR Operations is an integral partner and service provider at Kiewit. In recent years, we have gone from decentralized HR groups to a unified, shared service team, with various HR Centers of Excellence. Our vision is to be a best-in-class international HR organization.
Location
This position will be based out of our Lenexa, KS office.
Responsibilities
- Work with the appropriate hiring managers on requisition approvals, rehire issues and internal/external postings.
- Maintain applicant tracking system, ensuring candidate records and activity are current, and provide weekly reports.
- Assess applicant/candidate quality, skills, and fit to identify the best candidate for a position
- Coordinate the offer approval process by facilitating the information flow to appropriate management.
- Actively contribute in associations and societies to further expand and diversify Kiewit's candidate pool.
- Understand the business strategy and connect it to a talent strategy.
- Work with the Sourcing team to implement a sourcing strategy to meet current staffing needs.
- Update requisitions daily to ensure proper status including hiring metrics and referral source for all new hires.
- Assistance with nationwide initiatives as needed
- Responsible for communicating directly with each hiring manager to support their hiring needs.
- Partner with business leaders and hiring managers to develop a deep understanding of their needs and the culture of the company.
- Work with managers and HR to attract top external talent, leveraging tactics to identify a qualified and diverse candidate pool.
Qualifications
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Marketing, Management, or related degree
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 or above
- Ability to work at least three days a week in Englewood, CO
- Ability to work at least 20 hours a week in Englewood, CO
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
- Experience working with Excel and Pivot Tables is preferred
- Effective communication (both oral and written), organization and interpersonal skills.
- Good attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies
- Positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and passionate for continuous improvement
- Must be able to freely access all parts of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environments
- Ability to manage confidential information in strict confidence
- Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
- Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship, both now and in the future
- Must have a valid Driver’s License
- Previous internship experience is preferred
