Kiewit Infrastructure Engineering (KIE) has an opening for a dynamic Senior Bentley CAD Manager in our growing Digital Delivery and CAD Management group. You will be part of our rapidly growing Infrastructure Design Department, which includes roadway, drainage, utilities, structural, geotechnical, and rail disciplines, and is a multi‑faceted, leading‑edge division of Kiewit with best‑in‑class technical expertise focused on the design‑build delivery of infrastructure projects throughout the country.

Location
This position will be based out of Kiewit Infrastructure Engineers Westlake, TX or Lone Tree, CO (South Denver) office.
Responsibilities
The candidate will be part of a design team responsible for completing engineering assignments in support of heavy civil construction for Kiewit Construction Companies’ business including roadway, drainage, utility design, preparation of design plans, and technical reports. Key responsibilities include the following:
• Perform primarily in office work to effectively support project teams, production staff, and technical coordination efforts.
• Demonstrate strong technical proficiency in MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, OpenBridge Modeler, and related Bentley and civil engineering design software.
• Manage, develop, implement, and maintain applicable DOT and owner-specific standards; ensure compliance with company CAD/BIM standards across projects and identify required updates to support heavy civil infrastructure and Design Build delivery.
• Coordinate with internal and external design teams, subconsultants, and technical leads to establish, manage, and support CAD/BIM execution throughout all phases of Design Build project delivery.
• Collaborate with IT leadership, digital delivery teams, and software vendors to resolve local and project-specific issues related to CAD/BIM deliverables, licensing, data management, and project technology requirements.
• Develop, maintain, and update Project CAD Manuals; contribute to the preparation, implementation, and ongoing management of BIM Project Execution Plans (BEPs) in accordance with DOT and Design Build contract requirements.
• Lead project CAD/BIM and 3D model management task force meetings, including agenda development, meeting documentation, and tracking and resolution of action items.
• Participate in interdisciplinary design reviews and CAD/BIM conformance audits to verify compliance with DOT, owner, and client standards for interim and milestone deliverables.
• Prepare progress reports and provide regular task status updates during department, project, and Design Build coordination meetings.
• Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare technical memoranda, formal documentation, and presentations on CAD/BIM standards, workflows, and technical topics.
• Effectively manage multiple projects concurrently by prioritizing tasks in support of accelerated Design Build schedules and evolving project scopes.
• Produce high quality documents and reports using Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Assist in the development, maintenance, and delivery of team software training materials, best practices, and technical guidance to support ongoing staff development and digital delivery maturity.
Qualifications
• Associate’s degree in computer-aided design, 3D modeling, drafting, surveying, or a closely related technical discipline. A combination of education and applicable experience may be considered.
• Twelve (12) or more years of progressive digital design experience utilizing and leading MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer on DOT-funded heavy civil infrastructure projects, including highways, interchanges, bridges, and roadway corridors.
• Proven leadership experience in CAD/BIM management within a multi-discipline, enterprise-level environment, specifically supporting DOT and Design‑Build delivery models, including:
-Development, implementation, and enforcement of DOT and client-specific CAD/BIM standards
-Support of fast-paced, iterative design workflows typical of Design‑Build projects
-Providing training, mentorship, and technical coaching to designers, engineers, and production staff
• Demonstrated experience defining, documenting, and implementing project-specific CAD standards, workflows, and CAD/BIM Execution Plans (BEPs) aligned with DOT requirements and Design‑Build contract provisions.
• Strong technical expertise troubleshooting design, data, and workflow issues in MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, OpenBridge Modeler, and related Bentley civil design applications used for DOT deliverables.
• Bentley Workspace development, configuration, deployment, and ongoing management experience in a multi-discipline, enterprise environment is required, including support for DOT seed files, levels, symbology, cells, and naming conventions.
• Demonstrated leadership managing digital design delivery for large, complex DOT or Design‑Build projects, from early scope validation and work plan development through staged submittals, final PS&E packages, and project closeout.
• Experience managing projects and deliverables within ProjectWise and Autodesk Construction Cloud, including version control, document workflows, permissions, and coordination with owner and joint-venture partners, is required.
• Experience leading and supporting projects using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Revit in DOT or Design‑Build environments is a plus.
• Strong critical thinking and forward-planning skills, with the ability to conceptualize digital delivery strategies that support accelerated schedules and evolving design criteria.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with DOT staff, design-build partners, subcontractors, and internal technical teams.
• Advanced understanding of civil engineering principles, roadway and bridge design practices, and materials commonly used on DOT transportation projects.
• Highly self-motivated, adaptable, and results-driven, with the ability to work independently and make informed decisions in fast-paced Design‑Build environments with minimal supervision.

Base Compensation: $130,000/yr - $135,000/yr
