Location

Position is based out of our Lone Tree, CO office with opportunity to work on a hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities

Design Tools

  • Work with a team of train control and communications engineers to develop a set of system design requirements for the various design tools that will be needed to complete design drawing activities. 
  • Assess our current tool set of Microstation, AutoCAD and Promis.e and provide recommendations to improve these tools to make our design teams more efficient and improve the level of quality of our work products.
  • Determine a set of metrics to assess the work we are doing and look for opportunities to improve these metrics. 
  • Complete a regular assessment for the design tools and recommend any upgrades or replacements as necessary

 

Functional Management

  • Work with business line managers to assess needs and develop hiring plan for CAD designers to support train control projects. 
  • Grow CAD design team to support business needs
  • Manage CAD design team to support project and/or district needs
  • Establish a set of metrics to assess and improve performance.
  • Ability to communicate and update status on projects

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Aided Design or an Associate degree in Electrical Technology or related with equivalent experience required 
  • Minimum of 10 years of electrical design experience is required. CAD design experience with rail transit project is a plus, but not required.
  • Software skills / Requirements for Electrical Systems:
    • 2D CAD: Expert level proficiency, with daily usage
    • 3D CAD: Intermediate level proficiency
    • Auto CAD: Intermediate with daily usage
    • Microstation: Intermediate with daily usage
    • Promis.e: Intermediate with daily usage
    • ProjectWise: Entry to intermediate level proficiency
    • Membership with active participation to professional organizations is desirable.
  • Travel: Minimal travel may be required. #LI-MD1

•    Regular, reliable attendance

•    Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies.
•    Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required.

 

Base Compensation: $130,000/yr - $150,000/yr 
(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
