Position Overview

As a Design Build Engineer, you will mitigate quantity growth on large design build projects. By knowing our quantities, we can be more successful in our forecasting efforts. The role of a Design build engineer is to accurately quantify discipline specific scopes of work by utilizing our companies’ tools and standard processes. These quantities will then be reviewed and presented to a few different groups including Discipline Leads and Managers, Project Counterparts and Project Control Managers. During this role you will learn how to read infrastructure drawings, quantify different scopes of work and then see work being built during site visits.

Kiewit Infrastructure Engineering's Design Build Management team are driving clients to turn to Kiewit during all stages of design-build projects to manage their multi-disciplined design teams to improve schedule, control costs and minimize risk. Our construction-driven engineers analyze root causes and resolve design issues before they impact schedule and budget. Particularly on large design-build projects, clients benefit from the proven processes and tools used by Kiewit to minimize project risk. We are an in-house resource that supports projects throughout the company. Our staff shares experiences gained, innovative concepts, and design best practices for all projects that we support.

Location

This position is based out of our Denver (Lone Tree), CO Office

Responsibilities

•     Work closely with in a team to produce reports
•     Displays understanding of Earned Value Management systems and concepts
•     Works closely with engineering leads to address remaining level of effort and forecasted effort to complete remaining work
•     Produces high quality reports based on Earned Value Management systems which comply with standard operating procedures. 
•     Exhibit ability to follow standard protocols
•     Demonstrates strong work ethic

Qualifications

  • STEM Related Undergraduate degree
  • Strong Financial, Mathematical & Analytical skills
  • Working knowledge of computers and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong decision-making skills
  • Demonstrated work ethic
  • The ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environment
  • The ability to meet deadlines and put in the time needed to get the job done
  • Occasional travels to project sites and offices is required for this role.

Base Compensation: $53,928 - $67,410 
(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
