Position Overview

Kiewit's Business Intelligence group is seeking a Market Research & Intelligence Intern. In this role, you will be a contributing member of the Business Intelligence group. This group provides an innovative approach to supporting our leadership in strategic decision-making using data-backed research. Our team will build your foundational knowledge in effective and efficient research and analysis and how to succinctly convey your message for optimal utilization.


District Overview

 

Kiewit Infrastructure Business Development is based in Lone Tree, Colorado, and provides best-in-class business development and proposal support services to Kiewit Infrastructure and Engineering Districts.

Location

This is a remote internship position. 

Responsibilities

  • Market Research:

    • Conduct market specific research and help prepare reports.
    • Collaborate with group to find best sources of market information, coordinate with their work, augment their analysis for specific needs.
    • Market research areas include:
      • Local / state / federal government markets – rail, road, air, bridges, ports.
      • New/emerging markets – EV, telecom, solar.
  • Legislation Analysis:

    • Assist in pulling and analyzing state legislation and rules/regulations around alternative delivery methods.
  • Funding Analysis:       

    • Assist in tracking and analyzing federal, state and local funding.
  • Competition Review: 

    • Assist in developing competition analysis within each market.
    • Gather data on competitors and analyze their projects, wins/losses and markets they are entering.

Qualifications

In this role, you will exhibit or develop the following skills:

  • Personal Skills:
    • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Journalism, or a related degree
    • Be available for full-time work during the 2025 summer
    • GPA above 3.0 preferred
    • Strong problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work independently.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills – speaking and writing.
    • Strong organization skills.
  • Research and Analysis:

    • Strong research skills.
    • Strong critical thinking and analysis skills.
  • Data Analysis:

    • Strong data visualization skills.
    • Understanding how to manage large sets of data.

 Other Requirements:
•    Regular, reliable attendance
•    Work productively and meet deadlines timely
•    Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment
•    Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies.
•    Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required.
 

Base Compensation: $18.00/hr - $22.00/hr 
(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
