Position Overview
Kiewit Nuclear Solutions is seeking a Structural Design Intern. We are looking for ideal candidates to grow the Kiewit team by helping establish, maintain, and improve company standards and tools while also using these standards and tools to contribute to project success. Candidates shall be familiar with current drawing and technical tools, programs, and software with an understanding of design documentation creation and layouts.

Location
This role is in Oak Ridge, TN or Lenexa, KS.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with other design group team members to review and exchange project information necessary for design and development
- Gathers required information and collaborate with engineers and multiple disciplines to develop BIM models for foundations and steel structures
- Leverages Building Information Modeling (BIM) to create plans, drawings, and details
- Assist in the development of department standards and tools
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an associate or bachelor’s program in Computer Aided Design & Drafting Technology or a related discipline
- Proficient in using computer-aided drafting programs such as Revit, AutoCAD, GEOPAK, or Navisworks, with basic knowledge of current computer operating systems
- Able to communicate via email and use electronic meeting requests, familiar with spreadsheets and databases
- Capable of communicating clearly with team members and other disciplines, both verbally and in writing
- Able to complete assignments within designated timeframes
- Understanding of multi-discipline engineering and vendor documentation
- Represents Kiewit professionally when interacting with owners, contractors, vendors, and external contacts
