Job Level: Mid Level
Home District/Group: DHO Kiewit Data Services
Department: Data Services
Market: Corporate Home Office
Employment Type: Full Time
Position Overview
The Senior Procurement Analyst will report directly to the Procurement Data Domain Manager within Kiewit Data Services (KDS). It is a high-impact, hands-on technical role designed for a driven professional who can deliver sophisticated analytical solutions today and grow into strategic data leadership. This person will work directly with business stakeholders to understand challenges, build best-in-class analytical solutions, and translate complex data into actionable business insights. This role will directly impact profitability of Kiewit through the reduction of risk and improvement of efficiency within our procurement organization.
This is not a traditional analytics role. We are looking for someone with a strong engineering or business foundation who came into data analytics through experience. Someone who thinks in systems, understands how businesses operate, and brings the technical depth to build real solutions independently. The ideal candidate will be technically exceptional, intellectually curious, and hungry to grow.

Our districts rely on us to deliver the correct data of the right quality, with the right level of analysis, and to make it available to them at the right time. We are a cross-functional organization with employees who have expertise in data, technology, support and operations. Our core functions are data Quality, Governance, Enablement, Analytics and Data Science.
At Kiewit, we design and build the critical infrastructure that powers communities and drives progress across North America. As part of our commitment to innovation and data-driven excellence, the Procurement data domain plays a critical role in shaping the tools and insights that fuel improved procurement decisions. We are looking for a Senior Procurement Analyst to join our data team to shape and support the delivery and success of our projects.

Responsibilities
Analytical Solution Delivery:
- Deliver high-quality analytical solutions that create measurable business value
- Apply AI and automation to deliver outsized results from solid core capabilities
- Partner with business stakeholders to understand challenges and translate into solutions
- Develop a deep understanding of the data sources and applications used to collect them
Data Modeling, Engineering, and Analysis:
You will work with data that is often unstructured, inconsistent, or spread across disparate systems. You are expected to be highly self-sufficient in sourcing, cleaning, and restructuring data, and to go beyond reporting to generate strategic recommendations.
- Write complex SQL (MS SQL Server, Snowflake) and Python
- Formulate and test hypotheses with limited direction
- Investigate and resolve data discrepancies
- Clearly articulate the business impact of analytical findings
Stakeholder Engagement and Communication:
You will serve as a trusted analytical partner to business stakeholders across the organization. This requires the ability to guide requirement conversations, translate technical complexity into plain language, and build strong working relationships that drive adoption and long-term impact.
- Lead requirement-gathering conversations with stakeholders, asking insightful questions to understand business context
- Communicate findings and designs clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Train stakeholders on tools and decision-support products; collect feedback for iteration
- Balance exceptional customer service with effective stakeholder management
Strategic Growth and Leadership Readiness:
This role is designed to grow into strategic data leadership. You will be expected to demonstrate initiative, think beyond your immediate assignments, and actively develop the capabilities that will define your next role - owning a procurement subdomain, shaping roadmaps, and leading a team.
- Participate in roadmap discussions; contribute ideas for prioritization and data strategy
- Identify high-value problems proactively and pursue them without being told
- Mentor and contribute to a culture of curiosity, rigor, and continuous improvement
- Develop deep functional knowledge of your assigned domain
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Economics, or a related field
Preferred: Candidates with an engineering or strong business background who have built analytics expertise through hands-on experience. A data analytics degree is not required, we value diverse paths into the field and believe the best analysts often come from disciplines that taught them how to think, not just how to query.
- 5+ years of experience in data analytics, data engineering, or a closely related field
- Demonstrated ability to deliver analytical solutions independently with limited direction
- Proven track record of working effectively with business stakeholders and translating their needs into technical solutions
- Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools to amplify analytical output and accelerate delivery
- Strong business acumen and a genuine desire to add measurable business value
- Intellectual curiosity and a drive to solve problems independently
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Strong critical thinking, comfort with ambiguity, and demonstrated potential for strategic leadership. #LI-AK1
