Position Overview
We are seeking a senior scheduling manager to run a 20+ person organization supporting a variety of markets in our Industrial division, which includes projects in Advanced Technologies (Data Center, Semiconductor, EV Battery, advanced manufacturing), Water/Wastewater, Mining, Chemical/BioScience processing, Food and Beverage, Industrial and Campus Energy, to name a few! Location
This position is based in our office in Lenexa Kansas. We do offer relocation assistance.
Responsibilities
- Accountability for the overall performance of the Scheduling team supporting Industrial and Water projects to ensure the following:
- Oversee critical path method scheduling (via Primavera) for construction projects.
- Oversee Master Schedule baseline development.
- Track project deliverables & monitor physical percent complete (Quantity tracking) for key projects
- Ability to analyze, evaluate and forecast current status against an established baseline schedule and train schedulers on that process.
- Assess the impact(s) of design or construction changes and schedule slippages. Reports status of schedule to the appropriate project and Company management as well to the client.
- Understand and applies engineering, procurement, and construction terminology, concepts, and relationships. Develops and maintains critical path logic networks and bar charts utilizing this information. Accumulates and accesses historical data, such as performance experience, for use in maintaining a realistic basis for future planning and forecasting. Standardize and teach best practices in scheduling functions
- Provide coaching, direction, development, and performance feedback as well as appropriate project assignments to the scheduling team; Ensure the team resolves scheduling problems in a timely manner.
- Ensure satisfactory schedule quality scores meet Kiewit standards and metrics through maintaining scheduling standards for the team.
- Executing hiring functions for both full time and intern staff.
Qualifications
- BA/BS in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field. If no degree, minimum of 15 years in Scheduling and Scheduling Management in Engineering and Construction.
- Minimum of 10 years of construction scheduling experience. Experience should include at least 3 years of proven leadership experience directing scheduling functions with experience in hiring, performance management, and training of schedulers.
- Advanced knowledge of construction engineering technology, codes, standards, etc., plus an in-depth understanding of the interdependence and relationship between other functional units required.
- Must have a working knowledge of standard cost control methods utilized in the execution of various types of projects (EPC, Joint Venture, Lump Sum, time and Material, Maintenance).
- Experience working with project leaders, customers, and other staff managing all aspects of project controls with a focus on scheduling/planning functions.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, strong work ethic and professional demeanor and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment to meet intense deadlines, goals, and objectives.
- Skilled in the ability to prioritize competing demands from upper management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Scheduling Software (P6 ideally).
- Travel to project sites, meetings, extended business trips, and training as required (Travel could be up to 20%)
