Position Overview

The Quality Assurance Manager administers the Kiewit Quality Management System and is responsible for assuring that quality standards and procedures are disseminated and implemented throughout the company.  They will plan and administer quality policies by performing the following duties personally or through other team members.  In addition, the candidate is responsible for interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems. 

District Overview

Kiewit’s Quality Group is a shared service that maintains and executes quality standards on projects across the company. Our principal quality objectives are to meet or exceed clients’ expectations and to eliminate rework by performing our work “right the first time.” We monitor our performance against these objectives and require continual improvement.

Location

This position will be based out of Lenexa KS.  Frequent travel to project sites is required. 

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a high level of understanding of company standards and guidelines.
  • Assigns and coordinates quality auditors and coordinators activities and schedules.
  • Facilitates and directs Quality Auditor meetings as required.
  • Develops quality audit schedule to be conducted throughout the year.
  • Participates and manages Quality Coordinator meetings.
  • Facilitate Lessons Learned meetings as necessary.
  • Maintains Lessons Learned database.
  • Reviews Division Quality Manuals.
  • Facilitates quality presentations as required.
  • Participates in department meetings as required.
  • Participates in division standards meetings as required.
  • Develop an understanding and knowledge of ISO Standards.
  • Trains employees on the company quality program.
  • Disseminates quality information in the office and on the internet. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, construction or a related field.
  • 7+ year of related experience in Quality Assurance specifically on construction projects (preferably in the power market).
  • Communications are vital to this position.  
  • Ability to operate a personal computer workstation throughout the work period with occasionally heavy demands.  
  • Experience with word processing, spread sheet and database applications required.
  • Occasionally lift and carry heavy items weighing 50 pounds or more.
  • Move in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven areas.  Full range of motion and flexibility consistent with age.
  • Climb and maintain balance on steel framework, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds.
