Position Overview

 

The Process Improvement Analyst is responsible for supporting the Estimating organization through the development, coordination, implementation, and maintenance of process improvement initiatives, estimating standards, document control practices, SharePoint site structures, opportunity tracking tools, workflow management, and internal reporting.

This role works closely with the Manager of Estimating, discipline groups, document control, security, business line managers, and partner estimating organizations to improve estimating consistency, quality, accessibility, and execution. The position is focused on helping transform process improvement ideas into workable models, verified procedures, training materials, and sustainable department practices.

The Process Improvement Analyst will manage key estimating documentation platforms, support alignment of estimating standards across organizational initiatives, maintain estimating-related databases and workflows, and create or maintain internal Power BI reports used by the Estimating department.

 

The ideal candidate is highly organized, process-oriented, collaborative, and comfortable working across multiple teams to support continuous improvement, document control, data accuracy, workflow tracking, and estimating department efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Manager of Estimating and discipline groups to identify, develop, and implement new process improvements and estimate quality procedures.
  • Meet with estimating discipline groups to review progress, direction, and implementation status of process improvement initiatives.
  • Develop process improvement ideas into workable models, verified procedures, repeatable activities, and sustainable department practices.
  • Develop and perform training for process improvement initiatives and newly implemented procedures.
  • Manage and maintain the estimating standards library.
  • Support standardization of estimating processes, tools, templates, procedures, and quality expectations.
  • Work with the Energy Estimating Group Process Improvement Team on estimating standards alignment for organizational initiatives.
  • Review proposed alignment procedures and report on differences or unique requirements specific to Nuclear compared with partner districts.
  • Manage Commercial Get Work SharePoint sites.
  • Own and maintain SharePoint Active Directory groups associated with estimating and Get Work sites.
  • Own and maintain SharePoint folder structures, updating them as process initiatives, department needs, or organizational changes require.
  • Manage user access to Get Work SharePoint sites.
  • Manage and maintain the KNS Estimating SharePoint site.
  • Provide support to disciplines and other estimating departments to keep SharePoint sites current, organized, and aligned with department expectations.
  • Manage the KNS Estimating Department Schedule / Opportunity Library.
  • Perform regular updates to opportunity records, including status changes and related opportunity information.
  • Review opportunities entered into department tracking tools to ensure all required and correct information has been provided.
  • Coordinate with Security to manage format, structure, and content on secure sites.
  • Maintain secure-site folder structures in the agreed-upon format established by the Estimating team.
  • Ensure RFPs and other project information are stored in the correct locations within secure sites and SharePoint environments.
  • Work with Document Control and Business Line Managers to train users on proper site usage, folder structures, and document storage expectations.
  • Support CRM updates as needed to complete PBC requirements.
  • Potentially support CRM updates with final pricing information following appropriate training and authorization.
  • Manage KNS estimating databases and related workflows.
  • Support estimating task request processes, including tracking, status updates, communication, and workflow coordination.
  • Create, maintain, and manage internal Power BI reports used or needed by the Estimating department.
  • Support data accuracy, reporting consistency, and visibility into estimating activities, opportunities, and task status.
  • Identify opportunities to improve document control, workflow efficiency, reporting, and estimating department processes.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree, bachelor’s degree, or equivalent professional experience in Business Administration, Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 3-5+ years of applicable experience.
  • Experience with Power BI report creation, maintenance, data visualization, or dashboard management; as well as experience using VSIO and SharePoint.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Ability to learn and support department systems, databases, reporting tools, and workflow platforms.
  • Experience supporting process improvement, document control, project coordination, estimating, proposal development, engineering, construction, or a related business function.
  • Familiarity with document control practices for secure sites, proposal documents, RFPs, project records, or controlled information.
  • Experience working with SharePoint sites, folder structures, document libraries, permissions, and user access management.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, records, and workflow requirements.
  • Ability to develop, document, and communicate procedures, standards, training materials, and process expectations.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy, document organization, and quality control.
  • Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders, including estimating teams, discipline groups, document control, security, business line managers, and leadership.
  • Familiarity with Nuclear, DOE/NNSA, energy, industrial, or highly regulated project environment is highly desirable.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Base Compensation: $117,000/yr - $122,000/yr

(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
