Position Overview
Kiewit is looking for a Preconstruction Manager/Estimating Manager that can lead various estimates of more than $500 million for vertical buildings in the markets of semiconductor, data center, and battery manufacturing facilities. Duties will include but are not limited to leading a team of estimators, participating in, and implementing win strategies, preparing AACES class 4 or 5 estimates using data and metrics, presenting estimates to executive management and clients, reading and interpreting documents, soliciting subcontractors, analyzing drawings and specifications, providing lowest cost design options for the lowest cost installation of construction, value management, reviewing and assisting with proposals, and other duties as required to prepare cost estimates/proposals for various types of work, including self-perform.

This position is located in Lenexa, KS.
Responsibilities
• Give guidance to estimators and engineers in the development phase of a collaborative contract model.
• Participate in task force meetings with the designer and bring constructability to the project solution.
• Developing the logic behind the project schedule (sequencing works)
• Communicate and present detail to executive management, permitting agencies, stakeholders, owners, etc.
• Analyze drawings and specifications to evaluate risks and opportunities.
• Reviewing and assisting with proposals and working with the estimating team for various components of the work to evaluate the best value for money/options.
• Support the selection of key subcontractors and trade partners.
• Demonstrate excellent collaborative behaviors in a multi-stakeholder environment and foster a culture of innovation.
Qualifications
• Undergraduate or graduate degree in construction management, construction engineering, or other engineering disciplines. Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or construction-related technology, OR.
• Ability to generate conceptual estimates for the Advance Technology Facilities market
• Ability to lead estimates and multiple teams.
• Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time.
• Strong attention to detail; strong communication, interpersonal, leadership, and team-building skills.
• Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products (e.g. Excel, Work, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Demonstrated through leadership, and the desire to win the project
