Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Mechanical Designer Revisionist to join our team. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, quality, and compliance of mechanical design deliverables. The primary responsibility is to review, check, and approve mechanical design work, identifying errors, inconsistencies, and deviations from standards before final release.

Location

This role will be onsite, located out of our Lenexa, KS office.

Responsibilities

 

  • Review and check mechanical design drawings, models, and documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
  • Identify and mark design mistakes, discrepancies, and potential issues, providing clear feedback to designers.
  • Serve as the final authority for design approval, giving the official stamp of approval prior to submission.
  • Ensure adherence to company standards, codes, and best practices throughout the design process.
  • Collaborate with design teams to resolve issues and maintain quality control.
  • Maintain detailed records of checks, revisions, and approvals for audit and project tracking purposes.

Qualifications

  • 25+ years of experience in mechanical design within industrial, manufacturing, or engineering environments.
  • Proven track record of design checking and review responsibilities in previous roles.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, components, and design principles.
  • Proficiency in Bluebeam for document review and markup.
  • Familiarity with Navisworks or similar 3D coordination software.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to identify errors quickly.
  • Strong communication skills for providing clear, constructive feedback to design teams.

Working Conditions

  • Fast-paced office environment; must be able to interact professionally with all levels of management whilesimultaneously managing a diversified workload and challenging situations efficiently and effectively; regularly sit, stand, walk and talk and listen; occasionally lift and move up objects up to 30 pounds. 
  • Travel in the U.S. and internationally (5-15%).
