Position Overview
The Commissioning Mechanical Lead will report directly to the Commissioning Manager. Promote and provide leadership for Safety. Direct and coordinate the daily activities of SU Mechanical and construction craft. Assume direct responsibility of all mechanical components and systems integrity for completion of contractual requirements with the highest degree of safety and quality.

Location
This position is based in Lenexa, KS with opportunity for flexible work.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all safety procedures are followed.
- Perform plant mechanical activities during commissioning phase and be accountable to the Mechanical Lead.
- Develop required procedure related to SU Mechanical activities.
- Follow all related SU procedures.
- Review engineering system descriptions for functionality.
- Directly supervise construction and contractor craft during commissioning phase.
- Perform initial equipment and pump check-out.
- Perform all system line flushes.
- Mechanical pre-operational check-outs.
- Perform pump initial run-in vibration analysis.
- Verify all rotating equipment alignments.
- Coordinate and verify all check-out and commissioning of systems.
- Coordinate completing and recording equipment initial run data.
- Provide oversight to sub-contractors performing activities such as oil flushes, hydrolyzing, chemical clean, steam blows.
- Provide oversight to TFA support.
- Elevate issues to Mechanical Lead in a timely manner.
- Develop action plan to address any issues.
- Read and adhere to Startup Administration Manual.
- Attend meetings as assigned by Mechanical Lead.
Qualifications
- An associate degree in the mechanical technology-related field or equivalent job-related experience
- Ten years of experience working in mechanical commissioning in power industry
- Experience in the required flushing, cleaning of mechanical piping systems.
- Expertise in the installation, testing, operation, repair, and maintenance of industrial processes.
- Knowledge of electrical principles and controls methods and practice
- Ability to supervise and train others in testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and operating and maintaining mechanical equipment related to the power industry.
- Ability to create and implement a project schedule to complete assigned daily work and achieve commissioning goals.
- Experience in Mechanical Technology, specifically related to commissioning of power plants.
