Finance Supervisor - Industrial

Position Overview

As a Finance Supervisor supporting Kiewit's Industrial business, you'll lead a team of finance professionals while partnering directly with project and operational leadership to drive successful business outcomes. In this highly visible role, you'll provide strategic financial oversight for large-scale engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) projects while serving as a trusted advisor to operations managers and executive leadership.

District Overview

Kiewit's Industrial and Water Engineering Group (KIWE) plays a critical role in the successful delivery of complex engineering and construction projects across North America. Our team provides industry-leading EPC and design-build solutions in markets including Advanced Technology, Food & Beverage, Renewable Fuels, Industrial Buildings, Mineral Processing, Steel & Aluminum, Pulp & Paper, Water, Utilities, and Industrial Energy.

As part of our Operational Finance team, you'll work alongside technical experts, project leaders, and business executives to support project success while helping shape the future of critical infrastructure and manufacturing facilities.

Location

This position is based in Lenexa, Kansas, within the Kansas City metropolitan area. Work schedule is onsite Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and clearly communicate project financial performance and key business insights to operational and executive leadership.
• Build trust and strong partnerships with project teams while driving financial accountability and business results.
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of finance professionals to support both individual and organizational growth.
• Develop and maintain project budgets, forecasts, earned value analyses, and profit projections.
• Assist with the tracking and financial analysis of project change orders and forecast updates.
• Support project managers in establishing and implementing project controls and financial procedures.
• Champion continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, reporting, and decision-making processes.
• Utilize data, reporting tools, and financial metrics to identify risks, opportunities, and performance trends.
• Review project cash flows, contract terms, estimates, and change orders to proactively identify financial risks and opportunities.
• Partner with leadership to attract, develop, and retain top finance talent.
• Support multiple projects and stakeholders in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in financial analysis, project finance, accounting, or public accounting.
• Prior experience leading, mentoring, or developing team members preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong analytical capabilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence multiple levels of an organization.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Demonstrated problem-solving ability and commitment to continuous improvement.
• High level of professionalism, accountability, and business acumen.
• Ability to freely access all areas of construction and industrial project sites.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% as business needs require.
