Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced Expediting Manager, this position supports Kiewit and projects by expediting supplier’s deliverables. The Expediting Managers primary responsibility is to perform desk expediting tasks in order to ensure purchased materials and engineered equipment meet project need-by dates and schedules per the Contract. The expeditor will actively monitor the status of the orders and report delay early to project management to initiate mitigating actions. You will provide leadership and management for procurement of engineered equipment, commodities, permanent plant materials and supplies. This position manages expeditors, and site purchasing agents, interfacing with engineering management, estimating management and site management.

Location
This position could be based at our Aiken, SC or Lenexa, KS offices.
Responsibilities
- Manage relations supplier frequently to obtain timely submission of engineering data
- Coordinate timely responses of inhouse engineering
- Manage supplier progress to ensure materials and equipment purchased is delivered on time
- Proactive surveillance of supplier progress
- Read and understand fabrication schedules
- To take the appropriate action with the supplier in the event of delays
- Communicate and coordinate closely with the Project to ensure the most cost-effective use of time
- To act as the project’s representative at the suppliers' shop for expediting purposes
- To produce accurate records on physical progress at suppliers' shop
- To monitor the performance of the supplier’s sub-suppliers and advise on the need to assist the supplier to expedite primary sub-supplier or those providing components
- Represents Expediting in project meetings
- Keeps expected dates up-to-date in the expediting system
- Participate in kick-off and progress meetings
- Coordinate with the responsible engineering, buyers, inspectors, logistics and material control
Qualifications
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Power Point, Word, Excel) with general knowledge of database utilization. SmartMaterials and/or SAP experience is a plus,
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, business, engineering, supply chain management, or equivalent degree and/or a minimum of 15 years’ experience in engineering and/or construction or equivalent work/field/military experience.
• Must have experience as an expediting manager – Supply Chain for EPC projects. Experience with Supply Chain for Nuclear market with a proven track record of successfully executed projects strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of equipment and materials common in Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) projects.
• Detail-oriented, flexible and highly motivated with a strong work ethic and professional demeanor.
• Effective time management and organizational skills with excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to perform multiple tasks efficiently and accurately.
• Team player with the ability to also work independently to meet fixed deadlines, goals and objectives.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
