Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and strategic Corporate Marketing & Events Specialist to lead the planning and execution of tradeshows, conferences and client-focused marketing efforts that reflect our brand at the highest level. Serving as a strategic partner to business development, leadership, technical teams and creative designers, this individual will develop and deliver polished experiences and materials that support project pursuits, strengthen client relationships and elevate Kiewit's water business. This highly visible role requires exceptional project management, communication and organizational skills, along with the ability to manage multiple time-sensitive initiatives.

District Overview

The Kiewit Energy marketing, creative and proposal team provide get-work services to an array of markets, including power generation, transmission and distribution, renewables, industrial, oil and gas, and water/wastewater. Individuals in this department get exposure to a mix of high profile, complex pursuits across North America valued from $5M-$6B. This incredibly profitable, competitive, fun group focuses on winning more work with high-quality, client-focused sales strategies through creative communication techniques. Our rapidly growing team, which includes graphic designers, proposal professionals, writers, digital strategists, marketers, and data analytics brings vast experience, communication expertise, innovative concepts, and best practices to all projects we support across the company.

This position will be based out of our Lenexa, KS office. Opportunities for flexible work are available. 

Responsibilities

•    Lead the strategy, planning and execution of corporate tradeshows and conferences, partnering with business development teams to create experiences that strengthen client relationships, support project pursuits and advance business growth
•    Partner with the corporate events team to support the planning and execution of client events and receptions by providing marketing strategy, messaging and branded event materials
•    Develop and edit compelling print and digital marketing content that supports business development and reflects the Kiewit brand, including marketing collateral, tradeshow materials, social media, executive biographies, advertisements, and abstract and award submissions 
•    Interact directly with senior executives, business development teams and external partners with professionalism and confidence, representing the company at the highest level
•    Manage tradeshow budgets and vendor contracts with strong financial stewardship and attention to detail
•    Collaborate with the internal graphic design team to develop strategic visual elements that produce the best possible attendee experience while representing the Kiewit brands professionally and consistently
•    Develop an understanding of the water market, client priorities and industry trends to tailor event strategies and marketing messages for target audiences
•    Contribute to a collaborative, high-performing team by sharing best practices, supporting teammates and stepping in where needed to achieve shared goals

Qualifications

•    Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communication or related field
•    3+ years of experience in corporate marketing and tradeshow management, with a demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality events and marketing initiatives
•    Experience in the architecture, construction and engineering industry preferred
•    Confidence and professionalism in high-profile environments, with the ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with executives, clients and internal stakeholders
•    Collaborative, adaptable and solutions-oriented, with the ability to work independently, navigate evolving priorities and maintain a positive, proactive attitude
•    Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience developing marketing content, executive communications and client-facing materials
•    Ability to understand business development objectives and translate them into effective marketing strategies and client experiences
•    Ability to balance strategic thinking and creativity with hands-on execution, while maintaining exceptional attention to detail
•    Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to deliver results in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
•    Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams) and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign and Illustrator)
•    Willingness to travel approximately 15–20% for tradeshows and events. Most travel is planned well in advance, though occasional short-notice travel may be required
•    Ability to perform physical tasks associated with tradeshow execution, including booth installation and dismantling, packing and shipping exhibit materials, and lifting up to 50 pounds
